I’ll take a stab at the most popular:

Songhai, Abyssian, Magmar, Vanar, Lyonar, Vetruvian

For weakest and strongest I think it is pretty balanced. These are my personal thoughts on what I have seen personally in game.
If I were to make a tier list I would say something like this:

[STier] means cream of the crop.

[ATier] Means viable just barely weaker than S.

[BTier] (if it existed on my list) Would mean you put yourself at a disadvantage competitively

[CTier] Would mean you would only play in certain situations(counters an extremely popular deck)

S Tier- Abyssian, Songhai

A+ Tier- Vanar, Magmar

A Tier- Lyonar

A- Tier- Vetruvian

In my opinion & experience of course, ranked from high to low:

By Strength

  1. Magmar
  2. Abyssian
  3. Vanar
  4. Songhai
  5. Lyonar
  6. Vetruvian

By General('s Strength)

  1. Kara
  2. Reva
  3. Vaath
  4. Faye
  5. Lilithe
  6. Argeon
  7. Cassyva
  8. Kaleos
  9. Zir’an
  10. Zirix
  11. Sajj
  12. Starhorn

By Popularity

It seems Vetruvian is the least popular and weakest faction! Why is that?

Other factions got to keep their Makantor War666, Holy Immolation, Spectral Revenant, OP removal, 0-cost spells, et cetera, ad libitum, ad infinitum, ad nauseam, and Vetruvian didn’t.

But, you know, Vetruvians are fine, because they still have their faction version of Blood Taura, which many players like to cite as the Vetruvian “power card” that keeps them “good.”

Vertruvian does need more strong cards.

Are we playing the same game?

Among the 4 weakest BBS in the game 2 of them are in the same faction-> Vetruvian. BBS are very very important in Duelyst in fact if you have bad faction cards you can always play with neutrals as long as your BBS is good you are fine (this is what Vanar does mostly) but if your BBS is bad nothing can replace that and you are always going to have a disadvantage compared to the other factions.

Starfire sacarbs , Aymara healer, siphon energy, star’s fury, second wish , first wish ? How could Vetruvian be the strongest faction before the nerf if the faction cards were so bad? As I said above it is not a problem of cards but of BBS.

Give Vetruvian an OP BBS they will be OP give them a balanced BBS they will be balanced, it is as simple as that.

I am doing it by generals, factions are misleading.

1.Kara
2.Cass
3.Reva

3.Lilthe
3.Vaath
3.Faie
3.Argeon
3.Kaelos

4.Zirix

5.Sajj/Ziran
6.Starhorn

So basic points to gather

1.The game is fairly balanced only Kara is head and shoulders above everything.Cass is very good but the meta is shifted towards beating so it looks worse than it at times.

2.About five generals are really close to each other,You can make good arguments for each one but I think Reva and Vaath are next two best but if anyone said one of the other generals is better I can see a argument for it.

3.Starhorn is awful, Sajj is awful, Ziran is okay looks like she will be with the addition of Skorn. Honestly Ziran just needs to be able to heal herself for one.Sajj and Starhorn need new abilities.I think this is perfect ability for Starhorn

Seeking eye–This turn your general can replace twice

I just wrote what I see on ladder doesn’t mean that it’s 100% accurate data :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s not about Vetruvians not having good cards. They got some good cards; it was just that other factions got to keep their OP cards and Vetruvian didn’t.

Vetruvians need some OPness back basically so they can play on an even field with the other factions. OP BBS obviously will do (it’s the most consistent OPness since you are guaranteed to “draw” them just as you enter mid game), or a few OP cards, just something OP as every other faction has, and by OP cards we don’t mean glorified faction version of Blood Taura.

Power and Popularity

  1. Magmar - Vaath
  2. Vanar - Kara
  3. Songhai - Reva
  4. Abyssian - Cassyva
  5. Lyonar - Argeon
  6. Vanar - Faie
  7. Songhai - Kaleos
  8. Abyssian - Lillithe
  9. Lyonar - Zir’an
  10. Vetruvian - Sajj
  11. Vetruvian - Zirix
  12. Magmar - Starhorn

This is what the meta feels like to me in my personal opinion. I couldn’t decide whether Kara or Vaath deserved number one, I guess you could consider them tied. Looking at this list, I play mainly Sajj and Kaleos, I’m one of the few that think Sajj’s BBS is not terrible, just slightly underpowered. I despise playing the meta op stuff like Makantor War666 and Taygete Vaath, Kineticats and 4/7 Shieldmasters Kara or Holy Frustrating and Divine Cheese Argeon. I consider myself an “honourable player” and consequently play outside the meta, so far I’ve been doing okay with a Sajj deck.
P.S. Makantor War666 and Kineticats are terms under the name of Sorostaran and I claim no credit for them. Sorry Soro, had to use em to manifest my frustration. I came up with the others myself.

I have trouble getting what you guys mean by faction version of Blood Taura for Vet?

The only powerhouse (debatable) card in Vet atm I can see is Aymara. What is this card you guys are talking about that I wouldn’t know about?

I think that is what it means, its a pretty powerful card after all.
If they havent got an answer for it, it opens up some crazy comebacks.

Is blood Taura that good?? It didn’t strike me as such a good card compared to Blistering Skorn

I am glad you guys don’t get to balance the game.2nd wish unfair card,Amara Healer unfair card, Dominate Will unfair card.Hex blade and Scrab good cards.

Vet doesn’t need OP cards they need solid cards that synergize with Vet game plan.Vet has some of the most OP spells in the game,Vet has some of best late game minions in game.Vet has the worse early game of any faction.

With that said Wind slicer will be huge boost it is 2/3 so no more primus fist/Heal mystic or sub par 2/1 .Vet gets a strong early play that push vet structure agenda that alone might be enough be make vet usable.
