Hopes/Predictions for Expansion 2?
10/10 l2spell, canât even report me
You are.
(must be 15 char)

What I hope: honestly, CPG, now is not a good time for new factions. Hope you guys understand that. Also, new generals would be amazing.
What I want: For people to understand that since the beginning CPG wanted to make a fast game and stop complaining that the game is too fast. I also want multi-faction cards (that are not neutral)

I donât think there will ever be a time for a new faction. Theyâll be behind 2 expansions on cards. Even if they push them out without that many cards, their existence alone will introduce two new General BBSâs and taht will affect the meta in a huge way. What Netrunner did was genius in my mind. They introduced 3 new âGeneralsâ that have no ties to the other factions and they gave them a small batch of cards. Since then theyâve been giving them a few cards each cycle so that they donât completely shift the meta.
All for each faction having 3 general though. Didnât they say that this expansion is gonna be focused more around BBSâs? Maybe theyâll use that to introduce new Generals. Weâll see.
I donât know if theyâll go for the multi-faction cards. It doesnât make a lot of sense from a lore perspective. I guess you can have some cards that can only work with specific factions but I donât know. Also if we have cards like that, will they have both factionsâ abilities? Oh dear god Blast + Rebirth I am out.
As for your other comment, I am sorry but if a huge part of the playerbase has a problem with how the game is developing, then itâs reasonable to complain. And if thatâs going against the developerâs âvisionâ then I am sorry but youâre gonna end up with a dead game in no time if youâre not appealing to your core demographic.
Magmar centric:
My hopes:
Extremely unlikely but a rework of Starhorn, his lackluster BBS is warping the Magmar faction too much. It is terrible on its own and you really need to build around it to make it work. It has no innate synergy with anything in the Magmar faction so a lot of the ânewâ Magmar cards will be focused on trying to make Starhorn viable, which will only serve to reduce the number of Magmar cards for Vaath AND split the faction up into two halves. Two halves that have no use for the otherâs minions and spells, if you want to do that might as well make Starhorn a different faction so Magmar can be Magmar.
Other hopes: Egg-support after the feeble showing of ShimâZar, Grow support and more than 2 useable cards for Magmar. More viable archetypes in general for all factions.
My predictions:
A few Starhorn cards trying to push Starhorn, terrible Magmar cards that nobody uses with one or two stand-outs that are staple in every deck. (like Mandrake and Thumping.)
Can you? I know I canât as I donât see anything on the steam store page to do it, unless its some sort of region availability issue.
You buy things in the ingame store dude, but with your Steam wallet
I just hope they can pull out Starhorn, Sajj and the entire control archetype out of the gutter. Short matches are good, but not even reaching 9 cores that often is a bit too fast. And Iâd love to see the more uncommon
What Iâm really hoping for is a bunch of quality of life improvements. For example built-in support for tournaments is key for the future of competitive gaming, and the ability to turn down rendering quality down to oblivion (no animations, no bloom, no particle effects) would attract more casual gamers and make it easier for streamers too.
I see now. The option for using steam wallet doesnât come up at all unless you start the game up via steam. Which is why I never saw it since I never logged into the game using steam. When you donât log into the game with Steam the payment options only come up as Paypal or Credit Card.
Indeed ! Glad I helped a bit
Honestly I hope for cards that require proper positioning to play, no more of dragon mist seal into optimal positioning nonsense⌠If the new expansion doesnât focus on position, or at-least make it so that positioning matters against songhai, I honestly will quit the game for I started playing the game due to tactical things that could be done in regards to positioning.
Nerfing starfire scarab no matter how little, is insulting when they print Ki-beholder right afterwards⌠1 mana discount on a neutral minion and with an ability that synergies a ton with the range keyword.
Right now positioning effects are HEAVILY under-costed. Both for positive and negative effects. Honestly with the only 2 being fairly costed are Dancing Blades, Tracer, and Dominate Will.
Juax, Dragon Mist Seal, Hearthsister are under costed in their positioning altering effect while Siphon Energy, Sandtrap, and Entropic Decay are over costed. However in the case of sandtrap it is not so much that it is over-costed but rather the counters to the card are under-costed severely.
When the most interactive aspect of the game is marginalized(initial positioning of characters), I simply can not find the game fun when most decisions made matter not. Rather boring honestly.
TL:DR Make Positioning Great Again
yes i agree with you to keep the core decks strong, i dont mind if they if they show some loves to some memes, they make the game fun and unpredictable.
If âmemeâ decks ever become good, they will only be fun to the person playing it and excruciating for anyone else. Just imagine if dance of memes deck ever becomes viable. People would be begging to get matched against revas.
Anyway, I think meme-y cards @locoblutaxt mentioned werenât referring to actual meme-y cards but rather to the new magmar mechanics being so badly implemented they might as well be memes. Eggmar and Growmar is something CPG obviously wanted to work well but it just doesnât due to them being balanced poorly.
Sorry to say that but I meant Battle Pet mechanic (while I play Battle Pets in some of my decks).
And @xasiac: You may be right with âfun and unpredictableâ. I agree to a certain degree. But the Devs should not focus on that that much they did with Shimzar. Only half of the Battle Pets are played and half of them would have been enough - giving space for other cards.
But @raqyee: Yeah. Youâre kind of right with the badly implemented Magmar mechanics. And I think they should focus on making them work (as they originally intended - I think).
And - again: Focus on balancing! Thatâs the most important!
I just hope abyssian gets a playable 3 drop that doesnât interact with deathwatch or wraithlings.
