Hearth-Sister mistakes

I’ve been playing a bit of Vanar for a quest, and I KEEP expecting it to work like repulsor beast - that is, I play it, target the enemy minion, and then decide where I want the enemy minion to go.

4 or 5 games now I’ve made really stupid openings with her, and instead of moving an enemy minion into range of my general, just dropped her next to it and swapped her 1 pointless square.

Anyone else have any blind spots with cards they’re not used to playing?

In my early days, I had a systematic problem with Lyonar spell shit, mixing Divine Bond and Martyrdom … just let you imagine how disappointing it has been …

occasionally i forget that sister occupies the spot and i was planning on moving to that spot after swapping the enemy minion out.

I frequently forget Faie’s bloodborn targets everything in the column.
I also sometimes use Psychic Conduit on battle pets, expecting to control them. I dont know why this doesnt work.

I never play around warbird :unamused:. Does anyone play around warbird?

TBH, I would have asked the opposite : “Who doesn’t play around Warbird ?” I have my answer now

Stars Fury. Thank god I’m going for an education in finances and logistics or trying to figure out damage numbers and move sequences would be a pain.

Just happened to me 2 days ago.
Pretty much wiped my own board instead of my enemies.
After playing for a year.

It doesn’t work because battle pets start their turn before us. So you either have to have a spell that can specifically reactivate BP or that neutral minion. That does.

I use lyonar every day and I still do that all the time :frowning: designs too similar and reminiscent of each other

I literally just did that a couple days ago. I was thoroughly confused when my opponent’s minion didn’t go away. Sadly, that misplay throws the game, so I walked up to this glorious minion and decided to pick a fight. I figured it was the best way to end myself.

I wonder how confused my opponent was after watching me buff his minion just to go impale myself on it.

i personally don’t get the lyonar spell mix ups. one is 2 hands reaching towards one another. one is a guy impaling himself. not really the same at all

I sometimes mix up my MDS and Juxta ordering when my general needs to occupy the space the original minion was in… wait a second @maelrawn kappa

Oh course they are different, but in term of scannability (shape, color, space) they’re too similar when you make a fast pick. The icons both use almost the same amount of yellow/brown/greenbluish, with both a “flame” animation (on sword and on hand), it may be misleading if you’re not paying attention.

Added to that, DB cost has been moved to 3 some months ago, just as Martyrdom, another reason to mix them. I’m happy I stopped playing Lyonar before that change btw, because it will be even more awful to me :stuck_out_tongue:

I think part of it is how both animations of the spells direct the attention in a diagonal manner from the bottom left to the top right of the spell. I think a quick y-axis mirror flip may help circumvent this issue. @Ryvirath

(The misplay happens to me too. Might’ve been just one more reason I wasn’t having fun with the faction lol.)
