Arclyte is used in some of the cheaper budget decks cause its easy to use and can serve as semi removal, tlhough Primus Fist is better, and no Sunstone Templar is never used.
Having trouble with Magmar
What do you think of the deck Cass?
Yours? Looks pretty solid as far as i can judge, i’d just remove the tempests for primus fists

and the Maidens for Holy Immolations, but i guess thats way too expensive right now
Yeah, I mentioned the tempest removal at the bottom :3
I intentionally excluded Holy Immo because it was epic and too expensive yeah.
Oops, sry, didn’t read that too closely
Oh yeah and btw @OP, the Lyonar - Magmar Matchup is kinda lopsided in favor of Magmar, try to bait the Egg Morphs out, buff your Ironcliffes above 3 attack with roar to avoid plasma storm, and bank on cards like Jax, and maybe decimate and aegis barrier. I know that these cards are pretty expensive, but they are the best i can think of to tech in vs Magmar (and you already have a jax).
ALSO AVOID MAKANTOR.
I just beat somebody today in DIamond who let me hit a total of 4 Minions + General with a Makantor. I dunno why.
So might as well sacrifice those 2 monster thanks
ohh umm… Can i still handle growing monsters using that? or dispels would cover it for me? Sorry I haven’t tried dispel before so I have no complete idea how dispel works.
Dispell would get rid of the buffs, keywords and effects on it, like Earth Walker would return to 3/3 and lose grow.
Sun Bloom is an AoE dispell (2x2) and has infinite range.
BEWARE! You CAN dispell your own stuff, so try to avoid it.
Oh man, I won a game with my SaboSajj deck when the guy wasnt playing around Makantor himself, so I cloned it with Mirage Master and cleared his board
FeelsGoodMan
This is what the board looked like when the game ended. Blindscorch + Zen’rui’d the Silithar Elder
He ended up using 2 Earth Spheres, so the game dragged on a lot longer than I was expecting lol.
It is my honest opinion from now on that Mirage master is busted
to be real tho, i think it belongs to the kind of card that can be pretty solid but nobody uses them, feelssajman
Dem I didn’t know that disenchanting some monster is this sad
I have disenchanted Eight Gates, Archlyte Sentinel, Artifact Hunter and Time Maelstorm (Draugar Lord would join their ranks but I felt like there is importance to this monster so I didn’t disenchant Draugar Lord)
So far its good though I felt Blistering Skorn is risky. My first opponent is Vanar so I didn’t have a chance to test it against Magmar
Oh yeah what is the difference between a Normal type card and Mystic Card? I have an Orb Weaver and The High Hand Mystic Card though i felt like its just the color that made the difference
Eight Gates, ehh still used in some memedecks, Arclyte Sentinel, fair enough.
Time Maelstrom… why!? Unless you never EVER intend to give Artifact Vetruvian a shot, same for Artifact Hunter. I would disenchant Draugar Lord, but that’s just me.
If by Mystic you mean the one with the rainbow background, those are called Prismatic Cards and the only difference is that it looks pretty, is rarer and disenchants for more spirit.
I would actually argue in favor of DEing everything outside your main faction for the first month or so. Once you have a solid colelction and a couple of competitive decks, you can start building up another faction.
IMHO, trying to go for several factions at once as a f2p player is just going to lead to you rolling around in bronze and not really having fun with the game.
Sorry I didn’t know that Time Maelstorm since I never checked the second vetruvian general
Actually I was first thinking to make Eight Gates stay since I have Spiral Technique and Jade Monk but when I saw that Songhai will depend on spells uhm…
I was thinking of using abyssian (I have Shadowdancer)
Suddenly I realize you’re a Vetruvian player. I love to try the Thrall-like gameplay but like martin said I should focus in one faction first. Do you have tips on playing Vetruvian?
It is a very difficult and quite expensive faction to play. If you intend to play it, you’ll have to stick with it. Not to mention it is currently the weakest faction in the game. I’d wait after Shimzar to really get rolling. I myself am incapable of hitting S with Vet but Diamond is good enough for me right now.
I can be added in game with the IGN Phayze if you want to see sme examples of Vet decks. As you can see the pictures I posted in this thread, the faction can definitely be a ton of fun from time to time.
As a Lyonar 3-Ribboner I approve of that list.
One major tip is to play around them having egg morph. If you have the option to drop an ironcliffe or a silverguard knight(when they both would survive from minions currently on the board), you should try to drop the knight first. If your opponent has to trade in a couple of minions or a little bit of general HP, he is more likely to use his egg morph. Then on the next turn, it would be more safe to play Ironcliffe, as it is less likely that he has another egg morph waiting for you. Most magmar decks run 2 or 3 copies, so you can expect to see at least one every game, two copies for most, and very rarely will they draw all 3.
You should definitely consider posting your decklist though. That is the easiest way for people to give advice. There are a lot of cards that look really good so you add them in your deck, but they are actually not. I really love War Talon(looks super cool) but it doesn’t really make sense as a card. Frenzy and Provoke do not really work well together. You drop a provoke minion to limit your opponents mobility and force them to trade into it. Your minion is likely going to be dead, at the end of the turn, so you won’t get any value out of the frenzy. Also, provoke minions are common targets for dispel, and if you get dispelled you lose all the effects.
My advice is 3 Maytrdom for Taygete and that Brightmoss Golem is actually decent on a budget, good body for divine bond.
Looks like it the gameplay of a Thrall like is definitely fun and annoying (I fought a Vetruvian which deploys atleast 3 totems and pretty annoying to deal with)
I ahven’t met any Magmar player who uses egg morph but would like to take that advice thank you
also what is egg morph gameplay? I only met growth gameplay in my current rank
This is my first custom deck
https://forums.duelyst.com/uploads/short-url/a9h3lkVQv0Q7g6FNnj3oWe98rF4.png
and right now im playing what phayze suggested to me
I think most monster with high health fits with Lyonar Divine Bond
If I were you I’d take out the deathblighter, mantis, and planar scout and put in 3 windblade adepts. They were the best 2 drop pre-shimzar and are still amazing. Firestarter, first sword, and skywing don’t really fit Your deck and i would recommend ironcliffes instead once you get more cards. But it’s only 300 dust for a playset of them and they’re a staple in every lyonar deck. Last piece of advice. You really need AT LEAST 9 2 mana cards to have a good start consistently. You should take out some of your late game and put in more low cost minions
