Freezing or lagging in mid-game

Hello,
Game is freezing or lagging randomly quite often without allowing me to play a card, although my internet is very good. Sometimes it resumes after being frozen, but it gives me only few seconds to complete my moves which is impossible to do. And sometimes it says Hit a Snag, though rarely. I lost many games due to this problem. It started to happen several months ago. I had stopped playing because of this problem and have only been checking to see if it is fixed and have had only few proper games when I was lucky. It’s a good game, but this issue is very frustrating. Read similar reports but obviously not fixed yet. Is this issue known well and will be fixed soon?

Playing on Web browser (Chrome and Firefox), OS: Ubuntu

Server problems on their side, be patient

The downloadable client is much more stable in general, so you may want to try that out

This is a rare case where you should use Chrome (and an updated one) instead of FF due to performance.

Maybe their servers are overloaded and will be improved soon to handle the traffic. Sure I’ll give a break for a while

I wish I could but my OS is Ubuntu, they don’t have a linux client unfortunately

I am using either the Chrome browser or Firefox, the latest versions, on a linux machine. I’ve got so many freezing situations with Chrome recently, so started play on Firefox which looked like do not cause that many, but maybe the problem was only because of the servers and not related with which browser I choose. The game does not crash and it does not appear like a bug, I can interact with mouse even can pick emotes , but if I try to put my cards on the board, although it becomes unresponsive, sometimes the cards actually act after a big delay in a chain and sometimes they don’t and I see the opponent already played after a long wait

I’ve experienced something similar when I had to play Duelyst in browser and was using Firefox - game seemed to lag or freeze at times. It was caused by bad WebGL performance. I think performance should be the same with the same browser on different systems, but that’s not necessary true.
I’d advise to test how it runs for you under Windows, if you’re able to.

I’m playing in the Steam client at the moment, and I occasionally get disconnects. One thing that’s happened multiple times is that I get disconnected, get reconnected and fully loaded back into the game for around 10 seconds, and then get disconnected again, an experience I found rather frustrating. Would switching to Chrome possibly help with this?

I had that problem due to a firewall blocking content, I figured it out because a vpn fixed the problem (although technically you aren’t supposed to use those, due to ToS). Check your firewall essentially.

Never had a problem like that with stand alone client.

Hmm. I might have a similar issue. Do you know what exactly was being blocked?

Looks like it’s better now on the browser, have not had big delays like before for several days during the regular ladder matches. However, happened in the Gauntlets few times, couldn’t do the finishing move and lost my new Gauntlet record, too annoying

I didn’t have the chance to try on Windows, but in my case, I don’t think it’s because of the browser now. Nowadays lagging happens only with the Gauntlets, though not too frequently, which must have been played by fewer people since waiting time is much longer than the other modes. I think that the server matches me with distant players occasionally when there are not many opponents, and this may be causing delays…

I am not sure if it helps, but trying on the browser is so easy. I would play some games on Chrome to compare
