it’s been a while, so I’m gonna give a hint then go sleep for a bit.
the whole riddle refers to the name.
the first line establishes the fact that it is a witch, and the 3rd that it is male.
there are 2 common names for a male witch, this is one of them.
Should be easy now.

Spiral Technique is the correct answer! And your explanation is pretty good, as well. When you have no arcanysts (mainly Four Winds Magi), all (Phoenix) Fires have gone out, you can pray to the Heavens (Eclipse) and find the Spiral Technique.

An Avian Creature + must watch their backs = Scarlet Viper (Backstab)
Which leads me to the conclusion it’s either Wolfviper or Scarlet Raven

Spirit of the Wild?
Avian creature…check! (note the icon).
Been there since 39…my guess here was the patch it was introduced. However, Spirit of the Wild was introduced in 0.0.31.
Those close to home…Spirit of the wild only functions on opponents’ side of the board.
For they’re kinda screwed two fold…reactivation effectively gives each minion two attacks (assuming they weren’t just played).
