For those Otakus out there

Heard they were making a movie instead of a new season of NGNL…

Isn’t there already a movie? I heard it’s decent.

I can’t consider myself a fan of anime, it’s just smth I watch as well as plenty of other movies.

I’m however a fan of Haruhi Sudzumia series in case you haven’t noticed already. Also I like Durarara, Deathnote, Fate series (SN, UBW and Zero, not the shit happened recently, don’t remember the name). I have a special place in my heart for Druaga, since it was the first nonendless fantasy anime I watched.

I don’t appreciate Eva. Please, don’t kill me.

But I do like Wakfu ( was dissapointed by OVA and season 3 however) and the Last Airbender ( not Korra, nonono…) . I guess I’d add them to the list in spite of them being non Japanese, they are just that good.

haven’t watched an anime because I procrastinate anything and everything so where should I start?

May I make recommendations? My tastes aren’t generic, but maybe you’ll like them.

Bungou Stray Dogs? It has a second season, and a movie is coming out next year. A fast pace and cool animations are some of it’s redeeming factors.

Eyyy, I guess I’m up.

Ok something mainstream would probably be a good starting point, and something that will actually set a good standard for anime while not leaning back on normal cliches…

Boku no Hero Academia? I’m in looooove with the series and there’s a third season coming out next year. BTW, do go read the manga, it’s basically the same thing as the anime just that it’s abit further into the story than the anime

Have a genre preference?

I read the manga. As much as I enjoy it, I don’t think I’ll be watching the anime becasue it won’t be any different.

it hasn’t developed as I don’t watch anything.

Ok here’s my small starter pack:

For thrillers, Death Note. While it has some flaws, it’s still imo overall a great series and a good anime starting point for many, this is where I started my journey as well.

For fantasy/horror, Attack on Titan. Very popular, and for a good reason. Not for “good feels” though.

For adventure, Hunter x Hunter. This is just an amazing shonen (the most popular anime genre, you probably know series like Dragon Ball or Naruto). Awesome characters, interesting story. It’s quite long though.

For movies, anything Ghibli. Spirited Away would be a good starting point imo, although I don’t consider it to be a huge masterpiece.

The fact that nobody’s mentioned MahoYome here yet disturbs me. Best anime I’ve seen recently imho.

no SAO??

In all seriousness, @epicflygon I recommend one punch man. It’s a great one, they should have made more.

I hear the second season is not being made by Madhouse. I don’t really care for the series, but I can see why fans are concerned.

Don’t… care for the series? :no_mouth:

The Ancient Magus’s Bride is great! I also recommend Made in Abyss if you like non-generic fantasy worlds.

(Though the recent chapters of Made in Abyss have been preeeeettttttyyyyy heavy on the tentacles :octopus:. Uncomfortably so.:octopus::octopus:. I feel like I need an adult :octopus::octopus::octopus:)

Also, Jojo part 5 confirmed! Time for the memes! I T J U S T W O R K S.

Heard that the studio who are making the 2nd season of One Punch Man, helped on making the first season along side Madhouse, but Madhouse was the studio who were credited with making it. So I’m not worried about the 2nd season in terms of animation quality. My only worry would be if there is enough source material to make a second season successful.

Hehe, I don’t think SAO is actually as bad as many people say, it’s just that its good story elements are pretty nonexistent :stuck_out_tongue:
