A little sloppy sarcasm my bad but also noted. I love and respect this community I’ll act as such
For the folks screaming nerf
what are you saying, this dude just up and replied “That’s a fair argument I suppose” to a counterargument, this is the best thread Ive ever seen, mods should pin this for eternity, the whole world could gain from witnessing this dude in action
I was being serious, maybe I phrased it poorly?
@epicflygon. Same here, just waiting out the storm.
Lol I just saw the validity in your argument
I think it should be 3 weeks. Can’t prove this point objectively, just my own feeling.
But I’ll try.
First week is a mess, where everybody is trying wincons.
Second one is a week of looking for counterplays for most prominent decks.
The third one is one where the most prominent decks are looking for counterplays to counterplays.
Just random time approximation, really, but I believe it’s kinda correct.
Nah I get you dude but I honestly don’t know I’m more so basing my argument off of logic. Like logically speaking shouldn’t it be hard to judge something that’s only been around for such a short amount of time? But there are valid counter arguments to that question as well @ryousen
I like this to be honest. It is random time approximation but there’s also a ring of truth to it that gives it a little bit of credibility. At face value it just makes sense
While it is true that a lot of things that were complained about were nerfed, let’s also remember that there are probably even more than that were complained about that were never nerfed because they didn’t need to be. Duelyst players have bitched about almost every card to appear in top meta decks, specifically ones that people found irritating. As you mentioned there is Makantor and Immolation but there are many more.
Falcius, Mantra, Mana Deathgrip, Desolator. All are cards that people have argued to be nerfed but have not been, and in my opinion this was a healthy decision.
I think that a proper amount of time is needed before people start immediately calling “nerf” less than a week after expansions. This time period is always an absolute shitshow. As @alplod mentioned people are testing all types of crap this week, finding what is effective and what could only ever be a meme. When people pass this stage they will search for effective countermeasures to the very things they found to be effective. At THIS point I believe we can sensibly discuss nerfs or changes.
BTW, @thematsjo and @epicflygon, guys, I don’t meet many Bromes in S-rank, tbh. I thought they are waiting for a bug fix. Is situation in diamond/gold different?
The situation in diamond is very different.
There is an infestation of bromes.
Really? Granted I’ve only been doing my dailies but I’ve only faced two since the release. I’ve seen more Notion Vet than Brome players.

Right, thats fair; but, you know, as far as we could list for now, I’d say things that get nerf threads this early on are probably gonna get nerfed later on.
Also, Diamond 5, been seing Brome a lot too. Half the time I just instaconcede.
And only one Notion Sajj, for that matter
Edit: Notion is a pretty bad sounding name, isnt it? How about, Ascension Sajj
I’m seeing few notion vet.
I mean…yes we could say that things that people have asked to be nerfed now will probably get nerfed later, but I think that’s the wrong approach. As I have said this feels like a kneejerk reaction to something that people are not used to facing. There has never been a swarm variant that “promotes” minions like this and people who fail against it just straight up think it is overpowered.
I feel the reaction would be the same if artifacts had never existed then suddenly one expac Ascension Sajj (I agree this does sound better) came about they would be screaming for a nerf, saying it is impossible to deal with artifacts like this.
Remember when LitD was released? People went berserk, and to be honest I was one of them. I had never had to play around such a card and so it took a while to become accustomed to it. To me Brome does not feel implicitly “unfair”. To make use of the trial his deck is populated with nothing but crap-tier minions. Besides the Trial the only thing that even comes close to a wincon is Auroara, which is a rather lacklustre wincon at that. It is because of things like this that I feel people are reacting too quickly.
Whereas I do think kneejerk and true problems are discernable (Gaze was nerfed almost immediately, Finality was fast too), thats a valid thought. In the end these things arent black and white.
I’m still one of them though. It’s very hard to play around LitD when you’re Artifact Reva.
I’m horrible with acronyms, what is LitD again?
Edit: nevermind, finally figured it out.
I’m proud to be an OG Brome main who played him even before Strategos got printed! But I still suck.
This is the first expansion in which I hate and I been through all the expansions. You know why? Because of the trial and destiny cards. Some people are underestimating certain faction cards such as magmar and abyssian. They are actually a lot easier to fulfill the trial than what people claim. Also, just like everyone else the lynonar one is broken. And yes I tried lots of AoE removal in tempo/midrange decks and I tried to aggro my opponent, but at the end, they are either unreliable or aggro decks all of sudden becoming too slow. And yes I would say I play a significant amount of games for my degree of certainty of the claim I just made to be justified. That’s why I suggest to have some type of rework and/or have direct/indirect nerf to cards that make these trial/destiny cards broken. If anyone knows a better way to counter certain trial/destiny cards, I would love to know and specifically how every faction can utilize these counters.
