February 2018 Race To S-Rank!

Hey guys, GrincherZ here!

I’d like to announce I’ll be hosting a Race to S-Rank this February. The last official Race to S was in December 2016 (which I won ;p) but the backers 9moons didn’t do another one! I think this is one of the more exciting types of tournaments since there are no deck restrictions and metas evolve as time goes on. The leaders learn to tech for eachother and you start getting some very interesting variants.

I have a few prizes to give away for it and I will be casting games of people that allow me to.

January 31st - Whenever the season rolls over. (Typically this is ~3-4PM PST but it can vary so I suggest just being around that afternoon…)

Where

I’ll be hosting commentary, probably playing some games myself (I won’t be participating just playing for fun) and recalling tales of past races on my Twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/grincherz

Sign Ups

This sign-up sheet won’t be definitive of who all is participating, but it will help keep track of prizing. If a dark horse non entry scoops it- hopefully they know I’m giving away stuff.

Make sure if you’re participating to add Grinch in game so I can spectate / watch replays.

Quick question, typically how quickly does the first person get to S-Rank take on a new season? Since the new season rolls around late at night for me (usually 11pm/midnight pending on time difference).

Well, if pressed or in this case a competition you can potentially cut it down to about 8-10 hours.

I want a mystic skin so much… It fits well into abyssian colorscheme (BN mystic is good for hai, btw) .

Too bad that it’s literally impossible to participate in this if you have time constraints due to real life. By the time i get home from work and could start playing half of the participants are probably S-rank already.

It’s by no means a criticism of the event, which is entirely organized out of good will and just having some fun, but it would not be entirely wrong to suggest that it excludes the vast majority of the games population simply due to the date and time it falls on either.

Life sucks sometimes but there is no solution for that anyways. It is a great tournament idea and I always enjoyed the after race reports a lot

Don’t think so yet, if the live ladder ranking is correct. No one has made it to S-Rank so far (https://www.bagoum.com/ladder). Be interesting to see who wins, with which deck and how long it took them.
