Feb 2017 silver to diamond ziran deck

From rank 18 to diamond this is my deck. Not gunna say its s rank worthy but i have a good time playing it. i was running 3 aegis barriers less 2 trinity oaths and circle of life until i faced mogwai reva deck n saw how cloggy it could get. although i havent faced any competitive reva decks ive had success facing off meltdown argeon decks and beating them with shear raw power. Almighty excelsious!!!

My gameplan for this deck

Yes no 2 drops 2 easy to remove although they offer tempo mid to late game they are just invaluable so i constructed this deck with the idea of having a strong mid to late game by sacrificing starting left with no minions.

But this is what i do when starting left or right. Starting left we have no minions to play however the idea is to mulligan for dragoon or scintila to play turn 3. first turn i do not move (although you can move one space but not two) reason behind this is objective of the deck is to develop your board not go in “hulk smash” ideally developing two dragoons diagonally behind you when u take a step forward gives u an advantage. If opponent thinks you are an idiot for not moving up two spaces u take advantage of easy holy immo. with this fear in mind they may tend to spread out units which leaves them vunerable for decimate… having holy immo n decimate in your arsenal will leave opponent crippling at your mercy. Starting right same rules applies i do not move first turn always prioritize starting off with dragoon if possible. Now if opponent plays a minion on their first turn always look to position your turn 3 minion diagonally in range of holy immo. If you notice they trying to play around holy immo retreat your dragoon or scintilla in corner and develop another minion to the opposite side with you not moving. This way they normally would be mind blown n get caught in getting decimated. Wont work all the time but when it does decimate killing 2 to 3 minions is a whole lot of value

Each and every card is essential in this deck n droppin excelsious should be last resort whenever you think they have used up their removals. Ive started to accept sunriser as a staple as it gives you a mini tempest turn 5 with sundrop elixir and we all know that cheeky scintilla synergy.

All in all this deck teaches you to smartly replace and having answers when u need them. lasting judgment is just nice to use on sunsteel defenders. i think that is all for now just have fun with the deck no tweaking required.

Open your eyes everyone, the no 2-drop meta arrives.

Looks like Keeper of the Value could be decent, but I don’t see any slot for it.

Wheres my keeper of the vale then? I demand the return of Value fox

plasma PLASMA STORM storm.

this again…

It is nice to see another spell heavy Lyonar. I personally play Argeon but Lyonar has such strong spell options that I think a lot of players underestimate.

The best description of this deck,I can give people is that deck is made to go second. You lower chance of you winning going first significantly but you increase your chance of winning going second.

Now I personally feel Magmar is the deck most suited for this style( and probably there is a Vanar build as well that someone hasn’t discovered).Lyonar doesn’t have clean enough removal consistently let decks get the board on them.

This is faction with the best 2 drops it feels so counterproductive to go, I am going to lose turn 1 and maybe turn 2.

The deck still has only six guaranteed P2T1 drops, and the best one (Lancer) is missing from that line-up. It could be as late as P1T3 before this deck gets any minion down!

Have Radiant Dragoon and Sunriser really been working that well for you? It just looks like their effects would be hard to trigger without plenty of minions on the board.

dragoon is bait for enemy removal…this game is all about remove or die so more baits makes it harder for them to kill ironcliffe and excelsious when dropped

Dragoon isn’t a bait though. a 3/4 with an effect that only occurs when you have a board would never reasonably be removed, and even if it triggered on a friendly minion you don’t have any minions that would benefit it enough to justify even running it in the first place.

Also, your deck is EXTREMELY stiff, as other people have said before, due to the fact that it was built to go t2 and if it goes t1 you basically lose the early game to the opponent. Using Wind-blade would be a replacement for Dragoon that would make the deck a ton better, as the opponent actually will try to remove it as it is a 2 drop with some level of threat, and it allows you to get board early game.

Not using lancer in this deck is another anomaly I’m aware of. Why the heck do you run all of these heal cards and only use six cards that can synergize with it, with three of them being so extremely slow you’d be lucky to place them in the first place. Drop x3 Arclyte Regalia x3 lancer and you will do MUCH better. Making your general a threat will slow down the game enough so you can use Excelsious.

Arclyte Regalia is also counter-intuitive because healyonar WANTS your general to be damaged to maximize healing effects and such. The meta is mostly aggro focused too at the moment, and artifacts aren’t as strong due to the large abundance of low-mana drops that are usually on board.

I know what you said about the 2-drops, but the fact your not using Wind-blade makes me frustrated.

The deck clearly aims upon trying to create a strong, hard to kill board with constant healing and regalia as a bait for the opponent to waste resources on it. The problem is, this deck falls badly against Plasma Storm.

not really only flood when trinity oath in hand its not about playing out cards its about playing wisely

this high level of criticism should be used for those s ranked decks. point is i made it from silver to diamond with the greatest of ease thats why i have the title . first line said " Not gunna say its s rank worthy" so take it easy man

not a rant but im actually laughing when i read the whole thing… you pointed out regalia is counter productive as i want my general to take damage yet u say the meta is aggro lol. i wont reply to all points u made but i will say this in reponse to dragoon over lancer and windblade… as stated before i want my deck to provide me with mid to late game comebacks dragoon proves much worth as it trades easily and not weak to dispel even tho its slow its still a body that deals damage and one point of health to another correctly placed minion will help in trading and healing effects to proc…another reason windblade is only good up to turn 6 holy immo after that it dies easily abyssian lure ping dies magmar bbs kills with ease ive played alot of games to see these interactions over and over and whenever u dont have your two drops early game it decreases your deck strength by a ton…if u read through you would see my deck isnt about going in all face and trading. i posted my win record to prove my point.

as for lancer playing against top tier it would get removed…me playing against lancer they get a good kill from it but one nice sunbloom and its done im not a fan of dispel weakening effects if they dispel my stuff my stuff are still strong…why i heal so much?? excelsious duh -___- drop it turn 8 as an 8-8 and continue apply pressure its that simple

Talk aside that, how this deck fares vs Vanar?

slaughtered it depends who drops excelsious or meltdown first

I’m not going to comment on how competitive this deck is but gosh darn it, dropping a 20/20 Excelsious sure is satisfying! The deck looks really fun, but I will probably get crushed in S-rank.
