It’s more like a powerspike so far. I am just concerned about balance, but I have to admit the cards are super cool.
Expansion Spoilers Day 11: Enfeeble
Maybe they want the bucks and they don’t care for balance for the first month, then they balance everything.

This expansion is actually really generous, despite what people will have you believe.

Not the same thing they are actually both costed perfectly for what they do, Enfeeble 3 mana make EVERY minion a 1/1. Metamorphosis TRANSFORM ENEMY minions into 1/1 tokens with NO ABILITIES. When you use metamorphosis you are paying 1 extra mana to only target enemies, and 1 extra mana to essentially dispel them all as well. Meanwhile enfeeble is targeting your own minions as well and having a smaller impact. When taken into consideration these elements of each card tell us they are both drastically different and well priced for what they do.
Abyssal Juggernaut will not still be a 10 / 10. But your point still stands. Not losing effects makes the card a little different, but a lot of effects will also vanish, such as Stat-increasing ones.
I agree with this. I love my big lizard, but Magmar is in a state of either not being viable, or being forced into Rushy Facedamage to have a chance of winning. Before last patch’s nerfs to Reva, they essentially saw no play, and when they did, got bitchslapped by all the Revas, and had a difficult matchup against several opponents. Then with Reva’s downtoning, Magmar started exploding everywhere, and Keeper Vaath / Rush Vaath became the de facto one functional archetype that isn’t complete memes.
And the expansion’s One Punch Vaath isn’t going to help Magmar being shoehorned into extreme-face damage or lose. As a Lizard fan, I hope they eventually redesign the Rebirth mechanic or make more powerful support so that the Magmar can actually have more than 4 usable chards from their entire faction cardpool.
Thanatos went and tested the Juggernaut interaction, and it does get set to 1/1 (it’s a transform effect like Mark of Solitude). It can then keep growing if you spawn more creep.
While that’s an excellent analysis, you’re missing one mana there. Metamorphosis costs 6, not 5.
Where does the permanent part of Enfeeble measure into this compared to the one turn effect of metamorphosis.

Yeah they will nerf it, but they can only do it to a point where Magmar will be a shit tier. I cannot really imagine any(even slight) nerf without adding cards that are strong and not cancerous, and devs are failing in doing that in past few months.
ah yes, I see that now my mistake. I rarely see metamorphosis played and i’ve only ever played magmar in gauntlet so please forgive me for not being aware of the mana cost of metamorphosis.
well at least they cant go beyond flaming stampede and dance of dreams level of bad right?
(probably) and we are no longer in beta, i dont think making a faction go from playable into memes is gonna do CPG any good
