But i dont think anyone in their right mind would let cass stay far away. Being in her face is usually how people (except songhai) beat cass. This card create a safety net for cass when she screwed up, which is what a dislike about it. It straight up removes threat, unlike pandomonium or ye old metamorphosis which only buys some time (they can be removals but you need to use more cards or your HP to do that)
Expansion Spoiler Dev Talk Reveal: Necrotic Sphere
Hmm, donât Cassy decks run Silhouette Tracer anymore? I remember that used to see a lot of play cause it made staying in a safe position easier.
Yeah I agree this card will probably be a bit bonkers in Cassy, in Lili itâll be fine tho I feel.
I believe one of the devs mentioned in discord how during the testing phase how cassy had problems staying alive when fighting other decks and that was one of the reason for implementation of punish, and probably this too. Now, I donât have an exact source so take what I said with a grain of salt.
They also said during the devtalk how they want aggro to be a thing but only if itâs fairly difficult to pilot where you need to pay a lot of attention to your positioning rather than just mindlessly dropping minions on board and going face. And this card prevents exactly that from happening.
Cass having trouble staying alive? Kelaino nerf is real guys
As I said on stream chat: Really love it for the interesting deck synergies it provides
The return of Black Solus
the fact that cassy is played in tournaments finals and wins games as she is, obviously is irrelevant.
the only good way to beat cassy is do it early, she has lots of tools to stay alive, she only needs to survive till turn 8 after that she wins most of the time. so they see that she has problems to survive when people try their best to kill her in time before she snowballs and want to buff her?!
if they nerf kaleino to 2/3 and revenant to 6/3 or and obliterate/azalea get their effect halved, then by all means buff cassiva.
aggro already is risky and less played, than it used to in previous seasons(many heavy heal decks, nerfs to draw, you simply end up with empty hand if go too hard on agro and opponent manages to survive long enough). one can counter most aggro plays with just proper positioning, especially in case of cassiva that only needs to survive till ~8 mana to get going.
already cassivas can survive long enough even while doing horrible positional mistakes if she only manages to get out a couple of kaleinos. with this card probably only songhai may have a chance to actually kill cassiva before 8 mana turn.
havenât seen it on cassiva. usually she survives good enough even without it.
sajj and vaath use it sometimes.
It kind of is considering the tournaments that sheâs winning arenât featuring the next expansion. Cards from which can make or break a faction.
Thatâ's partially true, we shouldnât just assume that cass will continue to be top tier (as if cass players donât deserve playable new cards), but entering a new expansion from a position of strength is definitely a relevant thing to discuss in a thread like this. If you picked the best and worst factions and withheld expansion cards from both then the odds are extremely high that, four middle factions aside, the old best faction would continue to be better off than the worst.
so far i havenât seen cards that could treaten a cassivaâs survival spoiled yet (Tectonic Spikes the only aggro card iâve seen so far). worst case she would actually have to run Silhouette Tracer like ancientmage suggested.
i sure hope there is something like that.
you canât force every game to go to lategame when 1 faction has clear advantage there over all others.
Thatâs the whole point.
For me this is an extremely OP card against factions that relying in only few minions or doesnât has mobility i expect something to deal with this
Finally a proper answer to the aggro decks all around.
Iâve seen so many no brainer decks in the last session playing as cass and other factions.
I would say that if you think that rushing face lyonar style is an acceptable way of playing hereâs your answer, a bunch of cards that will punish your soul for bad positioning.
For the record - if Klein. Is a problem - adjust your deck.
Iâm not a cass main but this card is definitely a smarmy Lilith card, if youâll play this on cass youâre in for a big trouble. Turn 7 usually caries with it a massive amount of dmg. Potential, at that point you want to be as far as you can.
It does however punish a poorly played ironcliffe, thank god.
Sigh. Iâm replying to you because youâre the latest reply but, guys, you need to learn the name of this unit. Itâs Kelaino. Just learn it once and youâre good to go. Itâs not even hard.
Oh and, by the way, itâs not Abyssinian, itâs Abyssian, and not SonghaĂŻ or SongHai or whatever but just Songhai.
