Should have been: “Combine all your artifacts into one” (thus allowing you to have 2 more Artifact slots)

anti synergy with auroras tears right there

I’m by no means an expert of Vetruvian, but that’s an interesting card. Given how costly good artifacts are, this card enables their equipment for a lower mana cost, so it’s a great value card!

It’s conditional though: it requires a destroyed artifact and it’s dead till then. It should still equip a token artifact when the condition is not met to be better…

not really you just need to play 2 more artifacts.
Heres the strategy:
Equip 3 artifacts
play the What should have been card
Cast Autarch’s Gifts or equip 2 more artifacts
then play Auroras tears… and
BOOM

you’re dead before turn 3 ;/

Tbh the best support for sajj would just be to rework artifacts and let you equip more than 3 at once

No that would be op. Over the top unbalanced. So much so that it disgusts me just thinking about it. More than 3 you say… :thonk:

You’re joking, right? Card advantage is a thing, the only thing that this would help would be autrach’s and Aurora’s

You gotta draw the artifacts first, so if someone ends up having 4 staffs of ykir and an ankh or smth that’s good for them, artifacts are brittle as heck anyways

Yeah, this card is pretty meh. I can see it receiving play in artifact vet nonetheless.

Interesting thing to point out, the card, unlike artifact hunter, never says that the artifact equipped is randomly selected.

When this card is played a destroyed artifact joins the pack

Hmmm, very interesting design, it has potential. I assume we’ll be getting new Artifacts in the expansion but maybe Vetruvian has Artifacts that are worth building a deck around right now? This card generates more value the more expensive the Artifact it revives is:

  • Wildfire Ankh [3M] Very good card, but would you want more than three, and is the 1 mana discount going to be worth the clunkiness? Not so sure.
  • Hexblade [4M]: The extra attack is a big deal and with Falcius going away and Iris Barrier contaminating the revival pool I’m sure Vet players will appreciate the attack reduction on this thing! This seems like the best fit for currently released Vet Artifacts.
  • Thunderclap [4M]: Thunderclap already doesn’t see a lot of play and I expect this to be too much of a niche card to fit into a Metalmeld deck.

Everything else is very cheap or rotating out (Spinecleaver). Hexblade might be good enough to make this worth its addition, and maybe a new Vet Artifact will unlock its true potential!

I’m fully aware that the accursed EMP kills any hopes of a serious Artifact deck but whatever.

equips artifacts -> EMPs -> metalmelds

Assuming this is random, I wonder how this works. Say I’ve played 1 wildfire ankh and 1 staff of Y’kir. I play a metalmeld and gets me wildfire ankh. If I play another one right away, can I still get wildfire ankh? Say I’ve played 1 wildfire ankh and 2 staffs of Y’kir. Is it 1/3 that I get an ankh and 2/3 I get a staff?
