Expansion Spoiler Day 4: Zephyr

Great card, even if i’m more of a zirix player so i won’t play it so much…probably.

Waiting for the others greedily :3

Well, I just can’t say for this one. Not fond of Vetruvian

This certainly helps with Sajj’s BBS being too situational. I am not fond of the idea of having non-spammable BBS needing to RNG to certain cards to remedy its fundamental design flaw (such a huge disadvantage for a spell available so frequently every game), but if CPG insists on going that route, then I think Zephyr is a better design than OP power stick Falcius. It’s more consistent, since you don’t have to keep drawing them to spam BBS, and the power is spread out instead of super spikey/swingy. A single draw can help with multiple Psionic Strike usages until removed.

It’s much easier to spam Psionic Strike when you don’t have to face-tank gigantic dudes worth Psionic Strikin’ best Psionic Stricken. This helps with that without resorting to auto-include OPness. It’s good stuff short of actually fixing the poor fundamental BBS design.

It’s basically a 4 mana “Do 4 damage around your General and take X damage” or a 7 mana “Do 6 damage around your general.”

It’s not bad, per se, I just don’t see it being good enough to run in constructed. You have to put Saji in a dangerous position just to get the most out of it.

Or… you could just grab Blast and snipe everything from a safe distance.

Damn the ability was so obvious. Why couldn’t I find it with this picture ??!!!
A super saiian god with a kamehaha destroy all around

Only 4 x if it hits minions it’s 2 when it hits generals also. Saji is the type of general you can play close up or far away depending on the match up. Either way ur opponent tries to surround to you it’s a great counter. Taking damage well there is a card blindscrouch lowering a minions damage to zero thus insuring a free hit. Then there are turn six and above plays that let you hit things taking no damage with falcius. Also remember to u can equip ankh and blast a minion while hitting everything around you.

You can’t leave a reva at a distance or a faiei wall inflitrate

I don’t know. Zephyr + Felcius + BBS is a 7 cost combo. 7 cost combo for 8 damage in a frenzy bubble. doesn’t seem to garbage or trash. seems about right.

Well when ur opponent plays a minion that Must be taken care of double damage on no return damage is good. Keep in mind this isn’t just a Late game card as a saji card you have other artifacts on… At the start your first bbs can be used to clear minions and leave a body that can’t be generaled. I’m filled with hope cause for 4 years imma need a lot of it.

This just proves how GODLY CP is at card design and how far is lowly card design scrubs have to “get on their level” hoping that this cheap trend continues for vet. It’s already expensive enough as it is to make a good vet deck:joy:

I used to play Warhammer Fantasy, that game had a faction called Vampire Counts which centered mostly around their Hero units with a ton of ‘fodder’. Most of the power in the faction was consolidated into their Vampire/Necromancer unit. It was the very scary unit that could summon extra troops, command their underlings to be stronger and was both the best spellcaster and (usually) combat unit (depending on type) of their army while also being the general.

The direction CP seems to be taking with Vetruvian seems to be a similar one to the Vampire Counts/Tomb Kings factions of Warhammer: One very central character (general) that both commands and summons a host of weaker (unliving) underlings (Dervishes and Obelysks) with some special non-fodder units (Falcius, Zephyr, Nimbus) with a lot of the spellcasting and power brought by the General (i.e. artefacts on the general; Entropic Decay, Siphon Energy, Dominate Will being cast ‘around/by your general’; minions giving power to your general like Falcius, Zephyr.). It’s got parralels with cheaper, replenisheable units (skeletons/zombies = Dervishes), special ghostly units (Nimbus for example), etc…

Long post, but that’s why I draw the comparison. :stuck_out_tongue:

Exactly, and without the BBS it’s 6 mana, aka the exact cost of a Makantor Warbeast with a similar effect: a 4 damage AOE.

The only drawback being that it’s centered on your General, but the upside being that the general doesn’t receive any damage.

So same cost for a similar effect with different applications.

Heyyyy, I like this. No one will ever box Sajj in again.

Praise be to Makantor lord beast

Real talk for a moment. How does Zephyr get either general to Frenzy? we’ve seen his/her attack animation. so does she/he just say mean and slightly degrading things about the generals personal appearance to rile them up?

Probably tells saji the forums thinks to ur bbs is thrash and that revs has bigger boobs

Have you seen Zephyr’s hair? That’s already got me in a frenzy.

:rage:zasuke

You can’t use the frenzy effect without using your BBS

Crap, you’re right. damn.

But Zephyr doesn’t have to be summoned on the same turn to be used though. So it can also be less mana to set up (Zephyr already on board, Falcius + BBS is 4 mana). Like a Holy immolation. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s actually a incredibly under looked fact. If you don’t clear this thing from the board it could get out of hand since it’s not an Opening Gambit… Interesting.
