Expansion Spoiler Day 4: Zephyr

Tomorrow is most likely Magmar or Vanar… looking at the spoiler/reveal cycle so far, it’s Lyonar, Songhai, Abyssian, Vetruvian, (Magmar/Vanar), then (Magmar/Vanar). So the next Songhai card reveal is probably going to be on Friday.

Why haven’t we thought about this during last month design contest?!

i dont remember, does frenzy activate when your general uses a ranged or blast attack? cause if it does, this could be even more awesome

Most likely boon of this card is that you can use sajjis bbs indirectly vs the enemy general, dealing 4 damage in a simple 4 mana zephyr+bbs.

somehow i really like this card, it’s a card that can stand it’s own ground and can be useful at times, all in all great stuff man. love it.

I don’t think that would work. I mean, the damage is probably calculated by target, otherwise some magmar player would have written about being able to bypass Regalia

Sajj’s BBS does not do double damage against generals. Remember Wildfire Ankh already is a thing.

It may be that you are correct. Fex, in Blast the damage would be only 2 to enemy general. However frenzy works a bit different. Ie you can use a minion that has ā€œcannot attack enemy generalā€ with frenzy, and then by indirect attack it does damage enemy general.

I am quite sure than can be done with blast too, if you target another enemy in the same column or row. Those effects are based on targeting though, not in changing the damage dealt

IIRC, in order for Blast to also have Frenzy, you have to hit a cardinal target adjacent to your General to get the effect of Blast down the row or column with Frenzy hitting squares around the General. Hitting a target with Range shouldn’t trigger Frenzy.

Not much to say about it other then I agree with what people have said. Its a good card. Good enough stats, with an interesting ability. Might see weapon/artifact Sajj rise up a bit more. Using Zephyr to help clear a bunch of minions that get too close or when trying to surround the general, while using artifacts to effectively damage the enemy general with the blast artifact and the +attack artifact at a distance (can’t remember the artifacts names).

As a saji main I am quite happy with this so far. 3 mana I can fit in. My main problem aside from card draw is, minion clear. A nice frenzy clearing 2 or three minions is great imo. Even so a free hit on a general or monster can be big. Not to mention the spinecleaver combo… Kinda walls u in but that potential minion clear is too good.

A cool card that brings us another step closer to Vetruvian Generals as the big bad Vampire Lord/Sauron commanding their unliving hordes. I like it.

Great cards so far! Now i want to see a good 3 drop for magmar!!
