3 mana would have been nice
or 4 mana with better statline
Expansion Spoiler Day 4: Neutral Fizzling Mystic
As a ladder card this is underwhelming, though I am pretty sure he will have a place in the gauntlet do to how precious these kinds of effects are there.
I feel like this card really isn’t given the credit it deserves. Of course, 3/3 stats are on the lower end of the spectrum, but it still allows fizzling to trade into most 2 drops efficiently. There are 2 main strengths I see with this card:
-
It is very flexible, allowing you to heal your stronger units or damaging enemy units. This choice can really broaden your options when finding an efficient play for your turn.
-
The damage option of the card is pretty strong, despite it only being 2 damage. It can help you deal extra burst damage or help weaken a minion to trade, which can help fizzling trade into 5 health minions by itself. It is very important to note that the damage is unconditional, like the healing, which is very important when dealing with backline units or against getting the enemy general from across the board.
Overall, I see fizzling mystic as a very strong card, and I can definitely see it being used in a Faie list.
Or at the very least make it a 4 mana 3/4.
trash effect should have included both deal and heal just run healing mystic or maw simple
Yeah, I absolutely agree, the more I think about this card the better it gets.
2/10 never see play outside of vanar who loves spitting out damage
Well, we’ll see how it is when it comes out
Memes aside this is probably not that bad
The flexibility is something we haven’t really seen much before
It’s probably better in Tempo Argeon and Titan then any other deck.
Lots of these neutral minions seem like good fits for titan
Scarzig in Titan
Unexciting on in either mode. The flexibility of this modal card make it a bit better, but even so, I am still not convinced that this is worth playing over the 4 cost units that are far more threatening. This sounds like a card that goes into spell-less lists like argeon-titan that just want access to this type of effect.
With all modal cards, it’s common knowledge to evaluate which mode you are happy to see as the default. This one though is meh on both sides. The better side is the deal 2 damage one. All in all, it might be useful if there is a unit that this gets to prey on, like a ki beholder, nekomata or other similar expensive 2 hp units. If I am spending the 2 damage on tokens, then it might just not be good enough to justify running this over a threatening 4 drop.
Still, I’d like to stress how much I like the “choice” effect of this card. I always loved the Discover mechanic of HS
Good sign for the future, definitely
I never liked the discover mechanic of HS as it is very Rng heavy. The choice mechanic of Druid however I do like (as well as the Commands from MTG that give you the choice of a 2 out of 4)
Choice should always have limited outcomes. Or else we get must-haves like Stonehill Defender that may give you a Legendary as a rare. Grimes into gate is bad enough.
Well, Discover is not necessarily connected to high variance, though HS developers often interpret it that way. To me, Discover is just like Choice but with 3 outcomes as opposed to 2
3 outcomes of a choice is okay… out of a pool of more than 3 is bad…
4 mana 3/3 /10
Bad card.
