Circolus nice change at least now it easier to kill it and now those who wnat arcanyst decks prehaps need some extra card draw. And the stun thing, amazing change. I like that I can now dispell it, it makes a more insterting match, where I can eaither dispell myself or the minon to attack agian or just wait and or dispell the enmeny minons/general. it also makes those situation where vanar can stun your general several times in a raw gone. At long u got a dispell in hand.

Prediction: Circulus is near unplayable now.

Between Mana Deathgrip, Abyssian’s endless pings, neutral options in Bloodtear Alchemist & Skorn, now able to be killed by Rasha’s Curse, Battle Panddo, Ghost Lightning, etc… every faction has an easy answer to it. And because it’s such a big threat when left alive, people will 100% tech these cards into their decks (though some of these cards don’t even need to be teched in, they’re already apart of most decks).

Technically Circulus can still be combo’d with Owlbeast and spells late game, but IMO the biggest problem with Circulus was T1 Circulus to threaten mana -> T2 CC, Aspect, or Flash Freeze + 2-4 mana play for no card advantage loss -> T3 Game already completely snowballed.

This nerf also significantly weakens the player 2 Circulus on mana tile plays. Previously, you could P2 T1 Circulus on mana tile + Frigid Corona or CC + Flash Freeze the opponent’s minion. You can still do that now, but it’s a horrible tempo loss since the Circulus will just die to a minion or general or ping in either case.

Because of these significant weaknesses I will be surprised if Circulus continues to be played in a meta filled with easy pings. And personally I think Arcanyst Vanar is going to take a huge blow because it can’t sustain it’s CC+Mana Deathgrip+3000 other spell plays without Circulus refilling the hand. I could be wrong here, of course, since Trinity Wing & Blue Conjurer still exist. At the very least however I think this will eliminate the stupid early game blowouts & snowballing that Arcanyst Vanar could pull off.

I have this weird inkling we’ll be getting at least one card that stuns in the expansion :wink:

And maybe a differentiation between dispelling everything and dispelling only effects (or even just a debuff dispell which leaves buffs intact)?

    Just a part of it:
    vanar can still ramp, owlbeast is still a great powerhouse and blue conjurer will still be a pretty unfun card for new and old players alike.

    I don’t know other players, but i won’t use ephimeral shroud on first turn to move my general :smile: .
    Anyway, it looks like a good change.

    … How much power will factions get in the upcoming exp to leave magmars as they are?
    (Ok, they are not the end of the world with lavaslasher, makantors and a 9 out of hand damage (which draws 3 cards, but who cares) that costs 1 less than spiral technique and leaves a body,
    At least, i’m not having too much problems against them)

Do you think the nerf was overdone or the card will still be played in the appropriate meta?

Do I see a “copy deck”-button in this collection updates corner?

Stun can be dispelled now? I feel like things finally make sense! No more will Stun be the only effect in existence to have built-in dispel immunity.

Deck filters seem nice. I don’t have enough decks to make use of it, but I’m sure it will be a convenient tool. Now the color tags will have a purpose outside of decoration.

New bosses will be fun. I’m looking at the one that looks like Meltdown, and I just want to destroy it with every inch of my being! Now that we’ve cycled through some of the older bosses, it will be refreshing to have new challenges like these.

It also sounds like the cries of the community were heard, because Circulus took quite a hit. I don’t think Arcanyst Vanar will suffer as much as people think though. But maybe this is all just to help set things up for the new expansion. And I think people will welcome this change.

Is the nerf overdone unless the card still sees play? I mean, we have plenty of cards in every expansion that never see ANY play. I wouldn’t say a card needs to see play to be balanced; it might just only appear in weird meme decks and that’s just fine.

They said feature is import and export, I guess it will allow to copy by just exporting and importing the same deck.

For the boss sprites, I’ll go with brown Kron, grey Arcane Devourer and pinkish Alter Rexx Meltdown :wink:

Yeah, Meltdown seems better, I hesitated and went with the tail, you prolly have a better guess with arms :wink:

Personally I don’t think Circulus’ effect (& by extension Blue Conjurer i.e. infinite card draw) should’ve ever been printed, but if they are going to keep it then I think this nerf is fine. It limits the value you can get from Circulus to basically the turn you play it, which doesn’t get rid of the fundamental problem I have with the card but it does cull it somewhat.

Honestly? I’m highly sceptical, the core of the deck is unchanged, very little in the factions that saw top level play answer it now that didn’t do so anyway.

This is a buff to Mana Death Grip and more importantly Casseva/Sphere of Darkness. Good players can simply bait the ping with Circ and play a owl that you have less answers for though so yea, we’ll see.

IF pings come back into the meta and Circulus can’t reliably trigger Trinity Wing then that might stunt the card, though as Kara Mech has shown you can easily slot in Conjurer into non archanyst lists and simply run the shots with BBS and tempo spell synergies.

What I’m feeling here is a possible early resurgence from Cassyva and possibly Magmar solidifying their grip on the top of the meta.

Something that just came into my mind as a Magmar Main:

I’d rather have Lavaslasher been nerfed by 2 health and be shure Magmar gets good cards in the expansion then getting no nerf now and having to expect the coming expansion by itself is the Magmar nerf some players want and everybody expects.

Play the launcher version :wink: I only had problems with the Steam one.

I wouldn’t say they’re infinite. They’re limited by the number of spells you have. Your bbs is limited by the length of the game, plus any cryptographers you can fit in.

Overall I think this will stop Circulus turn one, which does a lot to keep it in check.

circllus??? thats it??? psssh just when i thought i could log in for the first time this month because i saw an update i expected more but i aint gunna rant… will just wait for next expansion to decide this game fate. by the way expected expansion to drop by now by correct calculations of every 3 months other games dropping theirs by next week sigh aww boy i dont know what to say. well gud luck. loggin out now

naah i cant hold it in… u mean to tell me u drop a weakass circulus to 1 when lavaslashers hp is perfectly fine smh i guess everyone on ladder probably running vanar thats why but this change wont make a single difference… its tempo its wasted removal i expected like a minimum of 5 changes
