Duelyst is not Dead (Big News)

So Big News announced through Duelyst Central Podcast

Those not interested in clicking the link or watching the podcast this is what was basically announced on the show.

  1. Duelyst is confirmed to be running indefinitely and they’re going to keep creating content for duelyst
  2. Content is slowing down this year
  3. Significant content in the 4th quarter of the year
  4. Plans to expand the player base
  5. Working on another strategy game that will carry the soul of the Duelyst.
  6. Hinted at new staff in the future

Yeah a spiritual successor sort of thing and a shooter I believe. Their website’s not super helpful.

Mixed feelings. Great that it’s not actually dead. But having to wait another 3 months for “significant content” is a bummer.

I’ve actually enjoyed the Wanderer vs Fault meta, but am I going to enjoy it for another 3 months?

There will be more attrition of the player base over the next few months, so I hope that promotions will keep it topped up.

As for me, I’m as patient as people come. If the next expansion will be of as high quality as the Mythron expansion, I’m willing to wait as long as it needs. My only concern is whether or not the long development period will be healthy for the game overall, but at least it’s better than no development at all by a mile.

I almost forgot you existed, nice to see you again. EDIT: Reading this now, it sounds very cold, I meant it in a nice or teasing way, I’m not very good at writing in an emotional way.

On a related note, I am happy to see that the game will be ongoing, hopefully this quenches the thirsts of the end is nigh prophets (one of which might have been me?). I am concerned over this new game that they will be making, I like the current setting of duelyst and love its strategy gameplay so if they come out with something like Duelyst in Fortnite, I will be…upset.

I suppose I can wait to see what will come before I start lowering my views of CPG.

Whaat? The pixel artstyle was polarizing?? That is one of the main seling points od this game! I’m drawing pixel art and have researched intensively over the last year, and Duelyst is actually the king of pixel art in my opinion.

Really suprised about this, and would be so disappointed if it got cut so that playerbase can expand.
