Divine Spark, Garbage?

It’s fine in Gauntlet and basically unplayable anywhere else. There are better options for constructed.

Eh, I know it’ll never happen but I wish the card said:
“Your general has flying this turn, draw two cards”

It would be a godsend for Vetruvian, giving them a means of taking prime positioning for a turn or just give them a chance to escape getting trapped.

In playing it, I found this card rather underwhelming to play. Like all pure card draw, it does not advance your board, and netting +1 card is still rather weak for 3 mana. Sojourner often gets two cards out of the deal, and it adds a body for any of the excellent buff spells in Vet. It does get better than sojourner late in the game. When mana is plentiful, this card is fine. Of course, it is a lot worse than what you find in other factions.

Spark could have been an interesting card if it also added something fun, like an extra replace for the replace deck synergy.

That said, I think its biggest flaw is that you don’t need this card in Vet. Vet has lots of spells and minions that don’t cost a card. Wind Shrike, first wish, the +3 health buff… All of these only cost mana. You don’t need much draw beyond a couple of sojourners and any combination of these cards.

this actually got me thinking. with the addition of blood of air entropic decay is even worse than it was before. why not change it to target ALL minions near your general. it could be all enemies or if that’s too good it could destroy allies as well.
