Diamond rank Sajj Sand Golems (intro)

Hi everyone,

I’ve been hanging out in the forums a while reading and picking up tips where I can but this is my first post. I’m pretty excited to have finally reached diamond and I did it with a deck I created myself. With all the knowledge I’ve gained from this forum I figure it’s time to share something and maybe break the ice and start actually posting and not just reading.

Anyway, the idea for the deck was to use arid unmaking and oblivion sickle to create early game sand tiles and flood the board with dervishes. I eventually dropped the arid unmaking, I just couldn’t find time to play it most games but the feel of the deck is still there. I tried healing minions and grove lions for a long time to try to keep my health up, but later found golems to thin my deck and make a stronger early game lessened the need for late game healing and defense.

So here is the deck as it is today:

Hopefully someone else can find as much enjoyment playing it as I have or I could even find some suggestions for improvement.

Enjoy!

Feels like pyromancer isn’t that necessary with the amount of t1 plays. Wouldn’t it be a good idea to swap it for some late game finishers? maybe a 3rd sirocco or some faults?

Well, my main reasons for choosing another low cost minion were:

dreamshaper is not a great turn 1 play without another golem in hand
there is a ton of draw with inner oasis, first wish and dreamshaper so a low curve works well
Sand tiles need minions to activate, and low cost minions let me play artifacts/buffs/bbs along with the minion

The pyromancer is actually the latest change to the deck, replacing the arid unmaking and pushing the effectiveness of the deck quite a bit. It certainly has potentially to be improve on, but I find it to be rather effective so far. Perhaps putting back in a healing or late game defensive option would work well. I don’t find much problem needing a finisher, you just get infinite value from sand tiles and overwhelm your opponents resources.

Cataclysmic faults ended up being a problem in the deck for a few reasons. I often couldn’t afford to give up a turn to play it, and often some of those center tiles were already sand tiles. I had them in and ended up taking them out in early iterations.

Always good to see some Sajj decks  thumbs up!
