[UPDATED] Patch 1.89 - Bug Thread

Sorry guys! I was at PAX this weekend and just got back home (which meant I wasn’t around to provide updates). Which means I have a huge unread inbox… AFAIK the Rank Division drop issue was resolved over this weekend on Saturday, so go hit that ladder up with no fear.

Thanatos already announced it a while back. Don’t know what you mean bad communication.

It was only announced in the forums, buried in a thread. Things like this should be made clear to the largest possible audience, e.g., using the push notification system of the game or by explicitly deploying a patch which announces the fix. Hoping that the entire player base will read the forums is just not realistic, yet the entire player base was affected by the bug. Things like this can cost players…

Hey there! Sorry, I’m late to the party.

So due to the unfortunate timing nature of this bug, I wasn’t around to do any wide-spread info blasts on this subject. I addressed that concern lower in that thread

… We would definitely like to inform players about high-level bugs on our social media, unfortunately, due to the timing nature of the Rank Division bug (occurring at the same time I was out at PAX West, and fixed before I got back), I couldn’t make any comments or updates on that subject. (Sorry guys! This one is on me, I need to find a better way to keep you guys updated when I’m “out of the office”)

I’d also like to address some of the other points you’ve made here:

• Reaching the largest possible audience - This forum was the only medium seeing any traction on the issue (before, during and after derank bug fixes). At that time with my limited resources, I made that post here (the forums) since it was the logical location where it would be seen by the most eyes asking questions. In the future, we would like to make posts on all relevant platforms.

• “Buried in a thread” - We stickied this thread to the top of the forums for everyone to see for two weeks, and the top comment was updated to reflect any new information. (Note: we also gave players the flexibility to unpin it from their feed if they chose to, in which case they may not see any updates). If you feel this is insufficient, we can look for alternatives next time (such as a permanent pins)

• Push Notification - We are working on this. That system is currently not available to all teams (ex: Community or Customer Support) but we understand the importance of being able to deliver real-time messages to players in the game.

No further feedback, just please take further comments by the community as valuable resources. The very large majority of players clearly wants the game to succeed, so we may miss something, but the intentions are always good. In particular, the lack of communication has been seen as a concerning aspect lately.

You typically do a very good job, but the information you can provide is typically limited. Having more information about the future of the game and a wider sense of interest by the developers looks important.
