I agree that it has no downsides so far, but it’s also the only ping card the Magmar faction has. Right now if your opponent has a ranged minion out on the board you can’t immediatly reach you’re either going to take a lot of damage until you can reach it or you use something like Plasma storm and ‘waste’ a great deal/all of your turn just to get that one minion (and that’s if plasma storm even affects it). Magmar really suffers from not being able to ping (yes I know Skorn exists, but he’s neutral and only does 1 and might kill your eggs)

So that would be my guess as to why it’s allowed to be more powerful. Though yeah it is strong when compared to the Lyonar version…on the other hand not all factions need to balanced around their cards but the faction as a whole.

Thank you for adding the rarities, I didn’t know that each faction would be getting only 3 legendary cards (one artifact, one 8 mana spell, and one minion) while all other rarities get 4 cards. Really great information~

Devs confirmed, that each faction gets 13 new cards and there are going to be 16 neutrals, adding up to 94 new cards. They talked about it during the stream where they revealed one card from each faction (Lava lance, legendary Songhai artifact, Wind Slicer etc.).

More recently they sent out an update stating the expansion will consist of 105 cards (so +11); that’s the number I’ve been going by, assuming the Factions simply get scaled up by 1. Did you hear otherwise?

No, 11 tokens, some of which are battle pets. The prisoners you get from inquisitor kron are tokens.

There is also the 5 monthly cards.

So in the end this month we get 13 new cards per faction + 21 neutrals (5 monthly) = 101 cards +11 tokens

Btw does anyone knows if monthly cards will be added to shim’zar orbs or regular orbs?

It’s 4 monthlies and 13 *6 + 20 = 98 :wink:
