Dark Memes VI: Pingyva

New month, new memes! This time I bring you a combo that has been in my head for a while. Sadly, I got to execute ut only right after the Kelaino nerf:

As we all know, the Shadow Sister can really snowball if she can stick around for a few turns. Sadly, at 3 health, that no more really happens (RIP Songhai matchups). But what if you could throw in some dank pings, actually what if almost everything in your deck revolved around proccing your Sweet Sister Kel? Surely we could gain some health then, while keeping the board nice and clean.

Card by card:

Shadow Sis: Still a neat card, although not oppressive in the least anymore. Make sure you have at least one Dancing Blades/Soj etc. on board when you drop her, or alternatively you can make a combo with Skorn/Frostbone Naga if you can damage 3 or more enemies at the same time.

Bloodtear & Maw: Turn 1 plays, combo with Sphere or Sphere+BBS to kill a 3-health minion.

Sojourner: Cheap card draw that doesn’t instantly die to all the self-harm you inflict on yourself.

Skorn & Naga: AOE and Kelaino procs. Nobody really expects a Frostbone Naga these days. Naga+Grasp of Agony is often capable of clearing the opponent’s entire board.

Dancing Blades: Removal and tempo, the classic budget thug.

Dust Wailer: Use mostly when you can remove at least 2 things with the opening gambit. A bad card but an awesome meme!

Red Synja: Mostly thrown here for the lolz, since I happened to have a copy laying around. Again, a card that definitely nobody expects and can win you games if you live in an alternative universe without removals everywhere.

Rev: You know what to do.

Grasp of Agony: The main source of burst in a deck that has really weak win conditions. Maybe the most difficult card to effectively use in the list, but can reap high rewards sometimes.

Shroud, Sphere & Punish: Dispel, cycle and removal. Ping + punish will remove mostly anything, any turn you want (unless it’s something like an undispelled Mechaz0r).

Testing the deck:
This deck was a really weird experience to use. I started in late April, with a 7 out of 9-win rate in Gold/Diamond. Then I levelled from 11 to 10 with the deck, only to hit a 5-game losing streak in Gold. In May, the record was thus an embarrassing 4 wins out of 11. So, all in all I got 11/20 (55%) win rate. The lack of win conditions seemed to be the real problem here, but I wanted to keep the deck all memey and included as many pings as possible. Similar to Dark Memes V: Healdown, the games were often very long and strategic.

In the final game I ran into the one and only @Hsuku, who beat me with some viewer’s Starhorn deck. I made a few mistakes (like not remembering that BBS on a 1-health rebirth minion destroys the egg… duh) but it was an enjoyable game. Why no Lure? Pinging and repositioning an enemy is very good I think.

Why reposition a minion when you can kill it?

Actually, I had not even thought about Lure for some reason  But as degenerator pointed out, most of the time you can just Punish the bigger stuff so luring it is not needed that much. Like half of the deck is pseudo-removal in itself, anyway.

well, more than once ive grasped a protected enemy, lured it into the optimal position, then killed it and everything around it. i call it the unholy immolation
