Concepts for awesome bbs for other generals

I’ve often though and discussed with friends, what if Variax was a neutral minion? What if all generals could gain a unique awesoome bbs? (that still cost 3 mana) I’d be interested in learning what ideas people have for this concept. Here are mine:


Faie- Summon a warbird nearby your general.

Warbird 2/1 token
Flying, Celerity, Rush. After this minion moves, deal 2 damage to all enemies on this column.

Kara- Give all allied minions +1/+1. Minions summoned this turn gain +5/+5 instead.

Ilena- Choose a friendly minion, all surrounding enemies are stunned.


Vaath- For this turn your general gains- Whenever your general destroys an enemy minion, it gains attack and health equal to that of the destroyed minion.

Starhorn- Deal damage to the enemy general equal to the number of cards in their action bar. Both players draw two cards.

Ragnora- Spawn a Silithar Kinmaster egg nearby your general. All eggs summoned until the end of your next turn are Silithar Kinmaster eggs.

-Spawn a sand dervish nearby each sand tile

Sand Dervish
1 mana 2/2 Dervish
Dying Wish- Turn a random nearby tile into exhuming sand.

Sajj- This turn whenever your general deals damage to an enemy, deal damage to all joined enemies and your general deals double damage to minions.

Cyphron- The attack of all enemy minions becomes two less. (This is permanent)


Kaelos- Teleport an allied minion anywhere and give it +4/+2 and backstab (2)
Reva- Summon 3 widowmakers on random spaces nearby your general with deadly. (death seal strike effect)
Shidai- Give a friendly minion backstab (10) this turn/Teleport your general to any space/draw to fill your action bar at the end of your turn/teleport an enemy minion to any space. (the spell costs 0)


Argeon- Give a nearby friendly minion +2 attack, forcefield and celerity

zir’an- Restore all friendly minions to full hp. If they are already full, overheal them.

Brome- Summon an ironcliff guardian in front of your general

What are your ideas?


I really like all of these ideas, because they don’t just jump around with random OP stuff, but they also support some existing archetypes that aren’t used as much (like Reva range, and Stun Ilena) although I think Vet pulled the short stick (except zirix, why must he be so strong) in that they got pretty terrible AWESOME BBSs. I really haven’t played much with Sabo Ciphy, but -2 Attack permanently might conflict with all of his cards that steal minions because he would have weaker minions. Vaath also seems like his BBS buff could get dispelled, which is always a problem when playing Vaath. Shidai’s BBS looks a bit strong on paper, but who knows if its actually OP or not.

It really becomes a matter of opinion how these BBSs would perform in the “current” meta, but I like to see a lot of underplayed archetypes being boosted by potential BBSs. My take on these BBSs to boost these archetypes are


Summon 3 token Icicles on your opponents side of the field. All friendly minions gain Infiltrate: +1/+1. All friendly minions are now infiltrated

2 Mana
Infiltrate: Dying Wish: Nearby friendly minions gain +1/+1 and if they are infiltrated, they gain Celerity.

So essentially these are 1/3 Icicles


Summon two random Vespyrs onto random spaces, and give them Rush and +1/+1


When your general attacks an enemy minion, destroy it and add a 0 cost copy to your hand. Your general deals double damage and takes no damage this turn.

I kind of like the Thunderhorn idea, but felt like it was a bit weak.


Reduce the attack of all enemies in a 2x2 area to 0 until the start of your next turn. Each enemy minion you take control of this turn gains
Dying Wish: Deal 1 damage to all enemies, Restore 1 health to your general


When cyph normally steals an enemy unit it’s attack returns to normal. However the wording may ruin this, since it’s become. I also though of- lower the attack of all enemy minions by 4 until the start of your next turn.

I completely forgot about infiltrate vanar and i quite like the idea for faie, but i feel moving her away from warbird damage could be too much of an identity change. Maybe a mix of the two? It is awesome.
I’d love to hear the other ideas you have for the other Vet generals, as Sajj’s just makes her a thunderhorn.

I really like all of these (and think kaelos would be a living nightmare to fight with). I do think we cant leave zirix bbs in its current awesome form, it will have to change. Also, isnt spamming ironcliffes too much? I’d stick with the trial proggression theme and make it 2-3 Silverhand Knights


I though about silverguard knights but 1 is too little value and 3 just seemed a bit too much like sky phalanx. I liked the idea of a lone protector shielding your general from threats, hence the ironcliff. Spam wise i feel its stats (13 total with provoke) make it balanced compared to what the abyssianc currently have (4x 4/4 husks/usually 8+ 4/4 fiends and 2+ 5/5 wraithlings)
Awesome bbs are supposed to be a lategame wincon, but if it is too strong a good substitute would be a token minion that lies in between the two (silverguard/ironcliff).

i had ideas only for vanar (daahh):
faie - summon a war bird.

war bird 4/5 flying vespyr, can’t be targeted by spells (maybe add forcefield)
as long as war bird is on the field your general gains flying and can’t be targeted by spells, whenever your general or war bird attacks deal the same to the column.

this is touching a slight point - we never actually saw warbird! now we got warbird on the field with a very good body that survives almost everything and can’t be targeted by spells and he’s flying - sticky as hell.
i really wanted to create this idea according to the lore, so once warbird hit the field faie got a little birdy herself and she’s able to fly.
she still create the same damage but can now escape easier in order to bomb out of danger + warbird is a hard hitter that fills the same role.

there are downsides due to the fact this can be ramped out 3 turns earlier, like the fact that when you hit the damage doesn’t pile up - you hit the general the whole column get’s hit at the same time.

Why wouldnt you give back Faie her former Warbird Form? Give herself Flying and a three coloumns wide BBS effect


I really like the concept of the unit! i feel forcefield would be a bit to powerful, considering you are already summoning a 4/5 spell immune and flying body for 3 mana.
Also, how would multiple work? Since it’s probably going to be used every turn due to awesome bbs unlocking at 8 mana.

you just summon more and more of them:)

umm… a little hard to swallow, given that you can ramp into it (and i will!) blowing up 7 out of hand the turn you summon your bird is caraazy and maybe a bit broken.

maybe lose the rush or the celerity and add something else?

nevertheless - this is an actual good rework for faie’s ability (which i think you tought of to begin with) summoning a bird that triggers the current bbs

No rush, no immediate effect. I think I should nerf the stats though.

I really, really like the warbird idea, making the bird a unit while retaining Faie’s original bbs, but still making it more powrful. Can i add it to the list i made? Crediting you of course. Much better than my idea.

No problem! But you don’t have to credit me though; the original Warbird idea was thought up by someone else. I just added on to it.


Ideas for the other two Vanar Generals. Reusing some of my old ideas.

Kara Winterblade
Summon an ambush of Infiltrate minions on the opponent’s side of the battlefield and give all friendly minions summoned this turn +1/+1.

Ilena Cryobyte
Stun all nearby enemy minions. If any of them were already stunned, destroy them immediately and put copies of them into your action bar.
