That’s more to ur poor foresight and planning. Obliterate is a turn 8 play for you so between now and they played a shroud which they should have you would know there were 2 more in his deck. Heck I don’t see how you don’t have your degenerate Grandmaster as she gives you a constant stream of high value minions. Vanar has a lot of low hp minions so get to no creep with ur bbs early shouldn’t be hard.
Concealing Shroud
Ah. Forgot about vaath and sunforge lancer… maybe some other cards I’m not thinking of. Tethermancer is in dire need of a buff, unless it’s extremely meta and I’m just not seeing it played.
Man, those are a lot of assumptions
That’s the thing, they never play one until they’re at the point where it’s the only way to survive. By then, I’m lulled into a false sense of security.[quote=“persona0, post:41, topic:7481”]

Maybe because that’s not part of my deck/playstyle?
That isn’t the problem. My issue is with having tons of creep set up already and being forced to wait on blowing them because I’ll lose value. And before you mention dispelling, it’d be difficult to dispel and Obliterate in one turn, which means I’d have to wait until my next turn to Obliterate which defeats the purpose of dispelling in the first place. Additionally, you have to deal with whatever else they drop along with the Concealing Shroud, which leads to a whole lot of heartache for me. Kind of hard to prepare for someone pulling a Get Out of Jail Free card from their ass without already having it set up, which will obviously detract from reaching my win cons.
No need to be so aggressive about the topic. Comments here are not a personal attack against you. Maybe if you could enlighten us with plays that could thwart concealing shroud, it may actually change my view about the card.
I don’t know how u read what I wrote as angry or aggressive. Degenerate Grandmaster was more of a joke then a serious dish but obviously you. Didn’t catch that so I’m sorry for not telling that better. I suggest to refrain you from getting to emotional in this discussion please.
Anyhoo can we all agree we can generally tell what a deck is by the cards people play. If we can agree then we can generally tel what cards they might have and what their Wincons will be. Faie is a easy read most of the time and one of the biggest draw backs to Vanar is their lack of card. You either want to use Concealing to block bug enemy turn damage go face or trade with a minion. Each of these are ez to read.
On Cass no being able to one-shot as she pleases this game shouldn’t be like a jrpg all rigid straight by the numbers it should be a western rpg free unwieldy where any thing can happen. Vanar as low card draw if you can’t get them to 3 or 2 cards you are doing stuff wrong. They pull out a draw spell or a minion then assume they are looking for something. A alcun lore master and a Concealing is a hard thing to hold when you are being pressured.
my views just changed on concealing shroud using it first hand. You are definitely right about it being hard thing to hold when pressured. Its not a spell you’d want if you are on the losing side but its something that quickens the game when you are already have the advantage.
Having played with this card, my findings is that this card has a very significant cost. It still costs a card to use, which limits its usefulness. In playing it, it felt like the card “fog” from magic the gathering, only a little bit more glorious because it also allows you to still do damage. I can imagine that there is a lot of synergy between it and artifacts, but on the whole… It is very situational. It is very meh when you are at parity. When you are behind, this could buy you the turn you need. When you are ahead, the card does not pull its weight.
Overall, the card is fine. Nothing spectacular. I can imagine it as a card that grants you a couple of turns of immortality so you can get a combination of cards to go off with. On the other hand, I think the cost in cards might be too big.
