hey guys, just recently started to play duelist again(beta player here) do you have any bagdet deck with only core card. shim’zar cards and unearthed prophecy cards, I don’t care about the spirit cost or the rarity of the cards, just need something to start of . I am already at 12 win streak since yesterday , I really enjoy the game but don’t play that much. thnx in advance, if anybody want’s to add me KOKHEHE is the name
Cheap decks for a new player
Vanar is probably the best starting faction…and also the best metafaction…but since i personaly dislike vanar im not going to make you a vanarmain
Second best is probably lyonar
https://imgur.com/kSn5xjc this should be a good budget-argeon list
Sojourner is the biggest indicator of this beeing a budget list…
Lyonar draw priority
1:trinity ooath
2:l kian if you dont have trinity ooath
3:something suboptimal else if you have none of the above…
Aim for lkian if you want to stick with the 3 basic orbtypes…trinity ooath if youre going to buy the special orbs
Consider replacing something up there with tigers…somehow entirely forgot them while making the deck and now im not certain what to discard for them…in your case it might be holy immolation.Although it is a lyonar-powercard and should realy not be rejected its still an epic…may be difficult to afford for a new player

Imo this is the best budget deck
The best (CRAFTABLE) cards to improve this with are:
3x Spectral Revenant
3x Desolator
3x Spectral Blade
3x Spell Jammer
3x Thunderhorn
(in that order)
Bassically just boost tigers attack with phantasms effect and shadow reflection.
Is the list eventualy outdated?Im asking because argeon runs slo and because all the songhaidecks run 3 inner focus
Yes it’s out dated, innerfocus is still a 3 of tho.
1 advice to you:do NOT take bagoum,s tierlist serious…its pretty bad
-vanar without reflection
-zir,an B tier but…
-Flying vet C tier?For real?
-Mantra reva lowest tier? The list they give you there is garbage indeed…but a good mantralist is quite powerfull
That was before the meta actually developed.
Yeah, hence the “?”
Not using these lists myself, just trying to give some (bad) element of answers.
Also, there is : https://imgur.com/a/j1GaT
(maybe more reliable)
Bagoum is outdated. Not recommending that page anymore to anyone except for the deckbuilder.
Way better are these: Grinch’s decks: http://imgur.com/a/XOhvF and some others: http://imgur.com/a/jEmMb (don’t know their creator though)

I suggest going for Abyssian if you want a budget deck. The faction has been scanned top to bottom by people like @deathsadvocate (who will also be streaming soon by the way) with multiple threads dedicated to it so you shouldn’t have any problems in not only finding a decklist for your tastes, but you should be able to gain a good understanding of its mechanics and current place in the meta. Speaking of the meta, it is pretty balanced right now (relatively at least) and I doubt the next expansion will hurt abyssian too much if at all (except maybe aggro cass) so its also a good option just in case you are worried about a deck-list that you spent spirit on suddenly being outdated.
I would not suggest Lyonar at the moment for two reasons: one, I have not played the faction myself intensely enough, but have read many other players account of it being pretty boring unless you run on memes. Second, you need lots of spirit to run anything competitive such as Alabaster Titan or Healyonar (unless you have golems, but Magmar would be better for that especially because there is a good chance the next expansion is going to boost them).
Gonna stop even though I have tons more to say, but above all remember that each faction has pretty unique styles, test them all out and see which style you think suits you such as minion generating totems, swarm, endurance, chip damage, etc.
EDITOR’S NOTES: Don’t play Vanar by the way, while there is no denying the fact that it can win you games easily even with garbage cards, you won’t feel good about yourself. Its like eating cheap McDonald’s greasy, delicious McPound with french fries on the side and maybe a 'lil chocalate shake to wash it down with, yeah. After that I could stop by the KFC’s next door and order 5 buckets of spicy wings and some coleslaw and mash potatoes…what was I talking about?
Thanks for the shoutout, I will be updating my budget guide soon.
Replace the word Vanar with Songhai and we are in agreement ;P. Songhai also just teaches a very different game then the rest of the factions. If your an experienced CCG player they are good to start out with since they play very similar to a card game, if your not or would rather play a board game best to avoid.
Wether you love or hate or think they are boring or not Lyonar and Magmar are the most friendly to new players.
Abyss has some really fun budget options and is certainly my favorite but is a notoriously expensive and difficult to play faction.
Feel free to hit me up or visit my various threads for help.
I would like to think I am pretty experienced in CCG’s since I have been playing Yu-Gi-Oh in all its forms since I was single digits (although I think all noobs say that so what do I know). As for Songhai being worse than Vanar, you should know I’m a Songhai main (not spellhai though) and while it does pain me to say this maybe Songhai could use a nerf. The only disagreement I think we really have on the topic is how. Should CPG nerf specific cards, should they balance it along with other factions (ex: give Magmar "egg hatches at end of anybody’s turn), should they add entirely new mechanics to the game, should they change the board, what kind of game should CPG try to make Duelyst anyways? I think the issue with Songhai exposes the even larger issues with the game and I think if we had a debate on this (which I’m all for by the way, but FRIENDLY debate) then we should definitely try to touch upon those larger issues first so we can have a clear foundation for the argument to take place on. Just make sure to open a new thread for this, I’m sure @kokhehe must feel intimidated by all this.
EDIT: Not right now though, I shouldn’t even be spending my time writing on forums, I have a work, but casual conversation is a-okay!
You play yugioh?! And what do you mean by all forms?
I don’t really play Yu-Gi-Oh anymore because its hella expensive and the rules change too much AND its become much like Hearthstone where you just buy the deck that costs the most. Last time I was still playing the meta was dominated by 500 dollar to a thousand decks with just ritual Nekroz. Wish I could still play, but just too goddamn expensive.
When I said I play all forms I just meant that I play online too and in video games like for the DS and such. I would play online since its free, but a lot of players online make me want to curse their mothers out because they are such trolls. This is because the online version is based on a code of honor basically saying that you have to trust that you’re opponent isn’t a troll and will let you activate your cards like traps when they summon a monster or something like that since the game itself does not have auto activate mechanics.
For example, imagine if you had to manually activate sentinels instead of the game automatically doing it for you. Now imagine in addition that you have to trust that you’re opponent will let you complete the action instead of continuing whatever play he was about to do. This might have changed recently, but too lazy to check.
I think Songhai has seen more than enough nerfs during the last year. Pretty much every single one of their key cards got hit along the way. They are easily the most heavily nerfed faction in the game.
I’m gonna start a new thread and the first post will be responding to this and opening up a big debate. Sorry @kokhehe for hijacking your thread, hopefully you still get some more advice from other players and any questions you have in regards to this topic responded.
The game is really cheap now the best deck costs 130 tops and the second (and not far behind In power) costs 65 tops.
The new rules aren’t hard to learn at all.
wow you guys are amazing, thank you all and each one of you for your advises I promise to try out everything you suggested me and try to find my place
