Card of the Day Cont April 2, 2017 Deathblighter

Whether you like him or ya hate 'I’m, ya boi Deathblighter’s here to play (or not be played)!

Here’s some stuff to (hopefully) start off the conversation:
1.) Your opinions on his design (in terms of abilities, aesthetics, and stats)
2.) Why do you think CP would design this when Frostbone Naga already exists?
3.) How would you change him?

Just a continuation of @seraphicreaper’s CotD threads

Its nice to include the card image in these threads;
If I recall correctly, its a 6 mana 3/3 with OG: Deals 3 damage to all enemy minions around it.
Well, you know, it costs too much for its poor stats. If only it damaged generals too.

Having trouble with bagoum and can’t copy image to here. :expressionless:

If anyone is interested it is a 6 mana 3/4 with opening gambit deal 3 damage to all enemy minions around it. Now on to the coments.

He won’t be seen in competitive play do to poor stats for his cost, in the gauntlet however he can be quite the lifesaver (sometimes).

Are you going to make more of these threads? I kinda miss the card of the day.

As long as @seraphicreaper doesn’t decide to take them back up again, I’ll have one ready for each day . Now I’m honestly not sure why deathblighter is a 6 mana card. His body is bad (for the mana cost anyways), the effect isn’t that notable, and his effect can only realistically proc on 7 targets and even that’s being a little optimistic. Why is this a thing? And why not make him a 5 mana card?

P.S if anyone can post the picture of the card itself, feel free to do so since I myself seem incapable of having it up on here

  1. In what situation would you rather have this card in hand than sunset paragon?

A. Never.

I played him in my first decks, it was pretty good in silver and gold. (But everything is good in gold and below so…)

The mana cost looks about right for a common core card that is there mostly for new players…

Not a competitive card but it’s a spirit cheap (new player friendly), less effective, sunset paragon

It is a common, it is very nice for gauntlet. It could use 1 less mana cost, but it won’t make the card much better itself, while being very strong played on turn 2-3.
