Card of the Day April 8, 2017 - Nature's Confluence

So I know that this may surprise some of you, but the answer to yesterday’s hint was drumroll* Natures Confluence*!

Here’s your questions:
1.) What’s the scariest pet you can pull from this (for both you and your opponent)
2.) Have you ever won/lost to because of this?
3.) What do you think of battle pets in general?

Tomorrow will be a pair day in honor of finding out that @isbee’s married! I hope you’re looking forward to it

Love when my opponent plays 4 Fogs. Hate when they get Oni or Sai. Doggo is okay too depending on your deck.

Definitely won games by hitting face with Revenant and letting the battlepets run into it for 10+ damage

The first time I saw this card I lost the game to it. Since then, I’ve changed my deck substantially and now it’s not too big of an issue. It doesn’t seem consistent enough to really be good but it’s certainly hilarious to play.

Dropping a nimbus near it also feels amazing

You’d be surprised at how annoying 4 onis are

  1. 4 Gro is the best one. They’re not that easy to remove and will snowball if left unnoticed.
  2. Never used it, but if I have enough resources I might use this (With Zukong)
  3. Battlepets needs more diversity. There’s not enough of them to be played outside from Magmar (who has Razor Skin and Thraex, also the card on this topic. Flashing Rawr is good too).

  1. Gro to fight against is scary, that 1/1 with a dying wish is perfect SpecRyv fodder though.
  2. No (or at least not because of IT), rarely see it. The few times it has been played, I either had a SpecRyv nearby, or it was 4 Roks.
  3. I like battle pets, they do tend to either be really good, or pretty terrible. i.e. Sai v. Fog or Rok v. Gro. I would like some more support for controlling the pets, as that would be a pretty fun thing.

Are those the forcefield ones? Because those are kind of a pain in the butt…

Something I made long ago, when Nimbus had all the hype.

One of my favourite cards. It was slightly broken when it costed 4 and you could play it on T2. I still play it in my magmar zoo decks. The best pet is doggie, with razor skin it is potential 24 damage.

I have a deck called seeker the sitter. It’s a battle pet star horn deck with godhammer.

Nature’s confluence is a difficult card to play only because of rok and fog. The celebrity pet is by far the best unless without God hammer. With God hammer oni is obviously trouble.

Battle pets in this arcanyst silver area I’m in are good. They’re suicide minions so your opponent has to play against them and your strategy is to just flood them, bomb everything and worry about your real minions for the kill.

Sounds fun. If you have Moloki huntress then that means one more general hit for your celerity minions (and +2 attack!). Have you faced any anti-mob or aoe decks yet (ex plasma storm/frostburn) in silver yet?

Yes, but aoe decks these days are arcanyst centric (dispell). Lots of area dispell and board wide damage. But godhammer can get you away from plasma storm and frostburn and dispell doesn’t work on godhammer’s continuous grow. And because battle pets are uncontrolled, it’s easy to sacrifice one (lightbender, frost bone, sunset). The biggest problem is ping because godhammer is the staple to take the early game. And it burns after that.
