True but i don’t come here for RL I come here to enjoy a game we together play. Not to see the few bad apple’s making it a negative experience. Tbh I don’t notice it myself perhaps cause I ignore it simply but I get why people would want it. And No this should’nt be a training ground for RL if that’s what you ment with “if only that is possible in real life” hehe
Can we please have an option to fully "Ignore Forum User"
Oh yeah. Its crazy enough he was male but 22 twins? What are the odds right?
Yeah, I love when people hate mail me. I don’t know why, I think because it usually just ends up being funny haha.
@persona0- Most other forums I believe and just about any game with a chat system has full muting option. I prefer communicating in person because sometimes text can make it hard to decipher true meaning. I never intended to suggest that criticism is bad. I agree that disagreements are perfectly fine, that is what most of discussions. However, time and time again there have been personal attacks. Like repeatedly by the same people.
@isbee yeah it really is like watching a reality show. It is something that should be just a normal conversation but tempers are just running high and people are being unreasonable. Threads have been locked
@ezekeel that is a point I forgot to mention. I was focused on the negative behavior, so I left out the part of muting obvious trolls or people too lazy to use the search bar and stuff. The post I made was mostly directed towards intelligent, but unnecessarily rude users.
@BlankTrack Yeah I almost wanted to make some popcorn and continue to watch it unfold! I’ve seen people have spats on this forum… but, wow. Thread not just locked…POOF! Gone.
I made a stupid meaningless salt/frustration thread once. It was funny to me and somewhat therapeutic, but it got poofed.
But to actually get on topic here, it would have been a nightmare to actually implement something like what you were describing. I’m a huge proponent of free expression and have waged wars against censorship, and it is a slippery slope when you give people the ability to block posts from being visible, even if it was only just for yourself. You have to assume that the power to do so would or could be abused in the worst possible way. Example; what would keep me or anyone from spearheading a campaign to have a majority of, or ALL of, the forum users add a particular person to their block list. It would almost silence that user entirely. Regardless of whether or not that user is generally constructive in their opinions is a point of contention for mods to decide.
For better or worse, the current method of flagging, though tedious at times, is generally the safest way to protect free and open expression of ideas. Really, if the user is obvious in their lack of respect for forum rules and guidelines, then I believe the mods will do their job. And I think we have really good ones!
Oh my god I’m so out of the loop, someone PM me the drama, I WANNA see the DRAMA
I got fed up with this myself a number of weeks ago and did some research to figure out how to do it using Adblock.

Enter this URL into a browser: https://forums.duelyst.com/user_actions.json?filter=5&username=NAME where NAME is the name of the person in question. For me, for example, https://forums.duelyst.com/user_actions.json?filter=5&username=qeltar
-
Search in the mess that appears for something like: “target_user_id”:NUMBER - for me it would be “target_user_id”:193
-
Add a custom filter in Adblock of this form: forums.duelyst.com##[data-user-id=“NUMBER”] *
For me: forums.duelyst.com##[data-user-id=“193”] *
Good luck.
This is also a reply to @BlankTrack
This is a small forum; threads don’t go on endlessly save a select few. The ones that do end don’t often have enormous amounts of posts, and as such a single comment is a large part of the content of a thread, even more so if it’s replied to because it then provides context.
To really understand what I’m trying to get at, take a few people you know (4 or 5 works best), set up a VOIP server, and try to do something in tandem while having one person muted. While this could be a great exercise in coordination, if you’re not specifically aiming for that, it causes immense amounts of confusion, and you become unable to generate meaningful dialogue without the context of the person you are missing.
Believe me when I tell you it would be a wonderful step towards breaking apart conversation cohesion on the forums. If we had a larger number of frequent posters here, sure, it could work. I blocked some guy on Facepunch because his posts are vapid nonsense worded so as to mock the concept of brevity, but that only works because Facepunch is enormous. We aren’t.
This actually can and does happen; I know of one instance on VGBA (Video Game Box Art) forums.

If you’re using OG AdBlock for that, you should probably switch to a different extension. ABP is about to start allowing ads through that they’ve screened for malware, which, in my opinion, defeats the purpose. UBlock has the same exact functionality but is lighter.
Whatever, I’m sure you can do the same thing with whatever that is.
Nice! I hadn’t considered looking for a mod/script/whatever you would call it but this is a great workaround!
Totally understand, I trust you guys have the forums best interests in mind, and am sure you are making the right choices.
I love you
Works even better than my Arcanyst Lyonar deck. Most things do, but this is much much better.
Save the meme thread, it will never stop
Thankfully this community is okay. I have only been trash talked like 2-3times during the entirety of playing this game. If it were any other games like hearthstone, the community is so toxic that it really just makes you feel completely disgusted of it. And it just kisses you off and eventually quit the game cause of how toxic people.
Take clash royale for instance, another highly competitive mobile game where pay2win or higher leveled players tend to bm lower leveled and free2play players cause of how supercell(the company) favors paying players by a huge margin. Ever since they introduced the mute button, I feel like the gaming experience was so much better because I don’t have to suffer badmanners and just plain emote spamming when I lost.
A mute option is definitely not a mistake when it comes to handling toxicity in a virtual medium.
Dunno if trash talk is the problem here on forums. To me, it’s more about saving time and not being engulfed into useless thread or troll feasts
It happened regularly to me, starting to read something, wondering “damn, that can’t be serious”, detailing a whole thread, preparing an answer and after a quick check, realizing “oh, ok, it’s that guy again, shit, I wasted time, I should have skipped that, nothing interesting to see here, only troll and/or useless stuff”.
But that was before Qeltar saved my life, may Makantor Jesus bless him forever
I liked for this part xD [quote=“nwardezir, post:47, topic:6939”]

I only once recieved a not so friendly request. I won the game through luck, gauntlet game for 7th win. I got the right hand and kept topdecking the right cards. I had, from my perspecitve, some epick combos that I executed well which actually gave me the advantage, but from my oppinents perspective the looked like BS…
Anyway as I recieved the request second after the match ended I knew what was up. I actually knew what was going to happen but ended up accapting regardles, and before that person ever got a chance to rage I wrote ‘good game’, ‘you almost had me but I got lucky with the topdeck’ and ‘check out my replay to that I actually had hard time playing this match (because from his perspective all my epick mind gimnastics looked like plain perfect topdecks)’. He said ‘at least you admit you won through luck’ and never spoke to me again.
My point with the replay was to show him that sometimes it seems like the opponent has perfect hand while the reality is way different. I hope he watched that game from how I saw it because I was at the edge of my seat playing it (even more as it was 6/2 gauntlet run).
Wow… just wow… After a, for me, cool match with a (I thought) friendly opponent, I gave them a tip after winning, and they accused me for being rude because I tipped them?
What the …?
That’s the world totally upside down, I really do not get these people
