I mean… i can live with a 12/12 whose cost go down with your health. The provoke however is fucking overkill imo.
Can someone tell me how Blood Tauro is balanced?
Provoke isn’t an overkill, provoke is the sole reason why the card isn’t utter garbage.
…it’s not utter garbage? First I’ve heard of it…
People bitching about Blood Taura.
That was unexpected.
Someone got Spirt of the Wild Blood Taura…Well if that was case I would get complaining but looks like someone got caught no removal late. This is so funny
Since nobody will give you a real answer rather than of making fun of you when you are asking a valid question, ai will try my best to explain.
The card itself is ridicoulously OP. BUT you need to be almost dead for it to work. You must be at 9 hp or lower, which puts you at lethal range for pretty much any deck. If you have 9 hp, you can play nothing else that turn. To play taura and also another card that has strong board impact you are gonna have 5 or less health
All classes have some sort of finisher( some more situational than others) that can easily burst you down from 9 hp or lower. Tiger+ tiger is 6 damage for 6 mana. They still have 3 mana for some sort of removal or buff for increased damage
Repulsor beast, any dispel, any removal, direct damage spells, sunset paragon, and placing a rush minion away from provoke and hitting the general at a different angle also works. There is probably more counterplay, but this is all that comes to mind.
The only good use of it I have seen was a zirian deck that focused on damaging yourself, dropping taura then healing back up. Even that I think would be kinda risky, but it is the best use for the card I have seen. I havent tried the deck myself, but it looked super fun.
Maybe with the 8 mana Spell “Sky Phalanx” we will see so kind of ultra heavy provoke late game in Lyonnar.
Don’t ask me how you survive until that and how you will heal back.
Spawning 3 monster with one card will be hard to remove to it your general, the turn after you “might” get a good blood Taura.
This is only an idea, but for now, DON’T USE BLOOD TAURA ! A simple dispel / OS card and you are dead.
12/12 with provoke is far from being ridiculously OP, even if it was normally costed. Hell, it’s not necessarily game winning even in the best case scenario.
This has gotta be a troll right? Either that or he just got destroyed by a Blood Tauro gimmick deck. Blood Tauro, of all cards…what’s next, Astral Crusader?
Maybe it will be fun to play Blood Taura with the next patch !
Think about Arcane Devourer for Abyssian, Blood Taura will cost 1 to summon.
With a Darkfire Sacrifice before and a Nether Summoning after (if Blood Taura is removed), oh damn …
Its a strong card. However its condition makes it a high risk high reward card.
Lot of trolls those days.
Or noob that takes their first impression for the universal truth.
Whatever the case it is bad for the forum.
you being so helpfull, thats whats helping these forums for sure
Makes sense yeah, just annoyed because after about half an hour of fighting, both generals being about out of tactics as anyone can be and both at very low health and then this bitch just comes in. If its a fast fight, no doubt i would have teleports, dispells or anything left but at this point neither of us almost had any cards left in either deck XD
And nope tho, vetruvian doesnt really have to many good finishing moves. Guess an artifact would have some, but when out of dispells i guess even artifact would be forced to attack the guy. Can live with it now i guess seeing as i did take the other player back in some matches afterwards… about 2-3 times ;D
There is a difference between asking for help and just polluting the forum with uninformed statement.
I gladly help anyone who ask for it , but I will express my opinion on people who makes insane statements.
You make your statements, i make mine. Wether they are insane or not is your viewpoint and as its not your expertise either i refuse that viewpoint.
Hehehe, next expansion will be fun for most generals regardless. Will make alot of people shuffle their decks in for a rework for sure ;D
Never heard of the famous replace astral crusader deck?
XD XD XD
You were playing vetruvian? You might have had a Dominate will in-hand. Blood taura hard-countered.
Dragonbone golem, 10/10 for 7, is considered a bad card. It does nothing when it hits the field, is vulnerable to all hard removal (plus displacement or stun), and costs at least 2 mana more than any normal answer (dark transformation for 5-- hailstone prison or Onyx Bear Seal get you even more mana tempo loss).
Blood Taurus gets +2/+2 and provoke for its extra mana, which removes none of the problems dragonbone has. Which is to say, even at 7 mana always, blood taurus would be not that great. But it could be worth even less- at 6 mana you could combo with common removal spells/good minions (presuming you’re at 9 mana).
Except then you’re at 6 health. I am very, very rarely at health below 10. At 10, you’re already vulnerable to far too many card combos on your opponent’s turn that would end the game. You see why this is bad.
So when is this card actually factually worth playing? Only if
-at 9 mana
-you are at or around 6 health
-you can combo it with cards that will clear the board or give you back health (or, with spirit of the wild, win the game)
-and your opponent has no cheap answers or ways to automatically kill you on their turn-- so if they have >3 cards in-hand and none of them are something like dark transformation or spiral technique
In practice, meeting these conditions is very, very rare. That it happened to you is a lesson. Mayyyybe, you got fantastically unlucky. But if you often find yourself at 9+ mana at low health, few cards in hand, and none that either answer big minions or hit face, you should look into improving your deck design and/or play style, since that is not a proper situation to find yourself in.
Yeah it is an extremely situational card. Just guessing, but like 8/10 times you play the card it isn’t really going to help that much, maybe stall a single turn or something, but it usually will just be dealt with through other means. Those other 2/10 games where your opponent has absolutely no answer to it though, it is a devastating card.
