Buff Emerald Rejuv

I understand that old emerald rejuv was a very powerful and op card. Yet tbh the game was more enjoyable due to it. These days the health pool is wayyyy to low.

Lets say turn 1 you play a windblade adept, your opponent plays flash sunsteel in reach of your windblade+general and a 2 drop. You clear sunsteel with general and windblade and develop some kind of minion. Guess what, you just lost the game due to taking 4 dmg to general.

Makantor and Revenant feel terrible to play against atm because they don’t lose card advantage while dealing dmg. In 2 draw the damage was insignificant because you had a much higher health pool due to emerald rejuv.

Also rejuv unlike kelaino doesn’t feel super frustrating to play against. You could just make it same as old effect yet 3/4 instead of 4/4 to make it slightly weaker since 3/3 was terrible.

But the effect is actually good for control Healyonar once that archetype becomes viable! Azure Herald should do fine for most decks imo.

So you want Rejuv to be in every single deck again? If you dont run an aggro deck, Rejuv can still be used. It still is a 4/4 body like it used to be and it still heals you for 4. A healing card should be played in decks that aim to survive until the lategame. Such decks dont mind giving the opponent 4 health because they will eventually win with value. As it was said, some builds actually benefit from healing your opponent (Ziran). It needs no buff.

Also, Kelaino is arguably OP, so you cant really compare the two. (Not to mention its a faction card, whereas ER is neutral).

I believe the main problem is its cost - there are too much nicer things for 4 mana in Healyonar and it’s hard to combo.

I also want old old rejuv back in the game and have so for a long time. It was only really nerfed because of its prevalence in decks 3x in everything. However back in those days there almost no other playable 4 drops. Dioltas and shield master were not buffed until after it had been nerfed and there are more cards and archetypes in the game than back when it existed.
So I don’t think restoring rejuv would instantly cause it to be a 3x in every deck again. There are absolutely decks and metas where I would rather run dioltas than rejuv for instance at 4, etc.

I feel what Rejuv really deserves is a stat buff. The effect by itself helps you reach late gam,e but 4/4 for 4 with no extended value generation is a setback that few decks can take in the tempo-zone, while simply droping a Shieldmaster can also shield damage and brings positional advantages and a healthpool that allows better trading.

I feel Rejuv loses way too much in terms of stars for a circumstantial ability. Making it a 4/5 would help make 4 drops more varied and also make it more able to generate value via trading, allowing value-focused decks to actually put this value-oriented card to use.

Plus, I like Control Sajj, and Sajj likes being healed. Save the Sajjs :smile:
