Boss battling advices

Doesn’t swarm Abyss just shit on bosses?

well you two guys happen to be really nice. You mentioned Healyonar, how could that deck be useful against bosses? I may be the one not making the deck perform at its best but I believe Lyonar needs some prep time in order to really be strong and it seems like with bosses you do not get that.

identify cards that snowball really hard, but cheap enough to craft. put a bunch of them in a single deck. then u profit.

(e.g. impervious giago can really hurt bosses. thunderclap is awesome when the boss has really good minions to steal. mechazor and ranged minions are always solid. )

Thunderclap sounds like he can kill bosses just by clapping his… hands. Thank you cloud. However, bosses usually have weird bloodsurge spells or passives that allows them to really hurt. There was almost one week ago a boss that could change minions and that literally destroyed my tactic. But yeah, I will do as you say, really nice to see experienced players give a helping hand and not call them NOOBS for whatever reason.

I’d say this is a pretty difficult question to answer, as each boss requires a unique strategy. I did write a guide for one of the bosses a while back, so I guess you can take a look. It’s really no loss crafting the cards I recommended for the boss because most of them are competitively viable. @mmf’s followup is really informative as well.

Until I became a bit better at the game and had a fuller collection, I had a few go-to tactics against bosses:

  • Get a first try with Abyssian swarm. Shadow Dancer wins you games because Boss AI doesn’t understand Deathwatch.
  • Another option has been Magmar Grow decks. Specifically, if you can get Gargantuan Growth to stick on a minion, then you’re probably going to win.

For the longest time I also resorted to hiding behind Wood-Wen + Quartermaster Gauj or Sinister Silhouette, both are very good at confusing overwhelming Boss armies. As @alplod said, Sarlac is also confusing the boss AI.

Thunderhorn is a superb card that will be extremely valuable anyway, and that really help to turn the tides against minion-spamming Bosses.

Now that I have a larger collection, I found that an early game of Rescue RX, Biomimetic Hulk and assorted heals also help contain the more aggressive Boss starts.

Various Trial and Destiny decks are now extremely valid against Bosses, but they are not budget-friendly.

Firstly - you live cause you heal as crazy.

Secondly - Boss doesn’t play around holy immolation and sunriser.

Also buffing your general’s attack to infinity and beyond is very possible for healyonar, and AI is stupid enough to attack your general until it’s lethal for him.

(If you have the spirit) Put Juggernaut in any decent Magmar deck. Works every time.

excuse my ignorance but solfist was the latest boss? Or the one that had flying as a passive

For the latest boss I tried this yesterday and yes, it is quite strong.

The current boss is Cade the Desolator.

And most of them cost more mana than wanted to be honest. Starting a match against three already put minions and a general and using a trial and destiny is not very wise unless the mana cost is around 1 and 2

Thank you, never played against it but seems like a pain in the neck. Thanks for the heads up.

One of the few times where Shadowwatcher is correct.

Due to your grammar and overall lack of explaining I can’t quite get what you’re talking about.

If you’re talking about, “I’m behind on board so I need to get ahead on board.” then you’re wrong, the most effective playing strategy for decks excluding Zoo Brome and Swarm Abyss is to play reactively till you can drop your big bois.

It’s a strong card in the meta right now, you build a deck around this card, your winrate will increase significantly.

bosses are dumb and usually when they have no removal, this thing just keep growing and spawning more golems, unstoppable. I play this card a lot when going for boss fight, but not always, since each boss fight is different.

I have the first one. I doubt I have the second one.

I do have the flash reincarnation as well
