The boss was pretty easy, too bad that there is only one level of difficulty. But Iām glad to try something new anyway

Boss Battles Discussion/Feedback Thread
I enjoyed the battle with the boss, though I cleared it at the first try with a creep deck thanks to a missed lethal by the AI. Please find below my feedback:

It is really nice to have a way to collect a few extra orbs. Having a boss fight twice a month would be a cool addition to the game and it would help beginners in building a larger collection. I thus disagree on the criticism that the boss is too easy: sure, expert players with full collections can beat it at the first try, but I donāt think itās so easy for beginners who are in particular need for the orb. I would love to see each boss coming in two difficulties, with the harder one requiring some nice deckbuilding setup and providing only cosmetic rewards. For instance, it would be already fine to have a badge (like faction badgets) counting the number of bosses defeated at the high difficulty level.

I missed the lore component of the boss battle. All this could be much more interesting if we were provided with some background information about the boss. Who is this guy? Which role does he play in the Duelyst world? Even minimal information and a little bit of setup would make the fight more exciting.

All cool and nice, but please notice that this is a very limited experience for players. I think most of us enjoyed it, but in half a hour Iām moving on the ladder again. It would be important to add other game modes besides boss fights to keep the audience interested (story, casual, whatever you like). I look forward to continuous draft mode.
Calibro gives up when he runs out of cards.
Beat him 1st try with my main Magmar deck. HE almost got me, I had 5 HP.
2nd try with my reworked Creep deck. I nearly won, but I lost.
The most fun I have had in game recently! But I wish theyād stay longer, I like this boss. Do they rotate?
EDIT: Seems everyone agrees heās easy. I guess after 4 months I am still a noob?
The boss needs to be smarter, he doesnāt know how cards work, and is very bad at identifying what cards he needs to remove. A prime example of this is how heāll kill wraithlings instead of going for the bloodmoon, if you donāt move. He wonāt move either (unless heās really low on hp), he wonāt make any sort of plays to pressure your backline cards.
He decided he does not like pax
So he smashed pax in the face
Then he, screaming āMY FACE IS STRONGESTā attacked the two dervishes one at time
I replaced the other pax since that was too easy
I had some fun with him tho
Thatās where you see AI is badly implemented.
Any decent human would have conceded when Variax out instead of waiting to be killed by boredom
Grandmaster Zendo- DEAD DRAW! Lol
Seems Rancour ability is too tricky for AI to understand and he still go face no matter what

Mehā¦
I beat it on my first try, with absolutely zero preparation or looking into, with the deck Iāve been laddering with. I didnāt find it particularly fun nor particularly challenging and 1 Spirit Orb as a reward (because Iām not going to spend money on a key) is also whatever.
Not trying to be negative, but I was not overly impressed with any aspect of it. Could take it or leave it.
Yeah it was easy with my undying saji⦠But had to draw with my solo is faie deck. He is kinda stupid for hitting monsters before he killed me on lethal tho.
I just got back into the game (I tried for a few days last January. Then it just somehow ended up sitting on my desktop until now.). So the first thing I noticed was the boss battle. I like the idea for boss battles but for a me this just feels frustrating. Iām using the started decks and no matter how good of a hand I get itās just GG if he keeps rolling Regalias. Itās nice to hear from people here that itās possible because I honestly thought it wouldnāt be and Iād just lose out on the opportunity. Iād much prefer the bosses gimmicks being a bit less RNG heavy. The dude just randomly turning near invulnerable is not fun IMO.
Called it!
Hehehe, jusā sayin
Thatās like saying the sunās gonna come out tomorrow or someone somewhere Iād gonna complain about something dumb. Use the prediction power to help cp get this game off and not end up another magi-Nation (rip)
I found the boss battle awesome. Artwork on Calibero is epic!
The main issue with it is that it is impossible to deploy the same challenge level for every player.
I suggest giving us options to increase or decrease the difficulty level. I imagine that programming a more advanced AI is out of question, but there are other ways to go about it.
For example:
- Let players determine the Bossā HP, ranging from 01 to 500.
i feel like letting the players choose the bossā hp would be a horrible idea. if people are having trouble, instead of improving their deck or trying new tactics, they just lower the health and try to topdeck phoenix fires or entropic gazes.
but along the same vein would be scaling the bossā hp to the players ladder rank. bronze at 15, silver 20, gold 25 diamond 30, s-rank 35 as a horribly unbalanced example.
health padding is balancing made easy, but condescending.
honestly the easiest way to increase difficulty of the boss is to simply use a different deck or to make your own challenges like āget lethal with obliterateā or ākill the boss in 3 turnsā or ādance of memesā
Used my aggro faie (No flameblood warlocks tho), stunned him with frigid corona. Stunned him again the next turn with icy and then played snowchaser. He didnāt summon any minions. I used another frigid corona and hit him with snowchaser. Summoned it again. Put down a tiger, hit him, and hit him with snowchaser. Put another snowchaser down. His artifacts were all gone. He had the celerity, and 2 Yākir staffs. He summoned a windblade adept, then put down a provoke, (think it was the lyonar thing with shields) then hit me face. Eventually i just kept hitting him with the snowchasers and remaking them and he couldnāt do anything.
The orb was nice, although I think you guys should make it 2 orbs for winning, and 2 orbs in the crate. That way, if you donāt buy the key, you still get a nice reward.
Was actually pretty enjoyable. Make it a bit tougher next time though. 30+ health would be nice.
