Boss Battle: Crystalline Champion – Duelyst

This was a fun boss to play with. I ran a Reva squad with sentinels and a couple of ranged minions. Beat him on the first try, though it was with difficulty. My entire deck folded to frostburn with that special rule in place so I had to rebuild twice from scratch.

Most tilting about this boss was that he played around the sentinel that copies spells played by the opponent. This guy played units for 4-5 turns straight while the sentinel was in play. Then he finally killed it and played 2-3 spells right after. Either he was very clever, or this was an amazing stroke of bad luck for me.

The boss was quite beefy. Eventually I worn him down with ranged minions and pings from the arcanyst 4/4 that drains for one every time a spell was played by me.

The Paralyzing Presence of Sarlac the Eternal

Boss and enemy minions move towards Sarlac, but never attack.

Even if boss could have lethal, a Sarlac below the minion, with me below that, prevented him from stepping to the side and killing my general (with his minion, he was far away).

They do move towards Sarlac if not already next to it, but do not attack.

Basically I stunned his entire board (I drew 3 Sarlacs) which gave me ample time to draw up for a win.

Thought the devs might like this feedback.

This is exactly what happened to me. When there’s a Sarlac nearby, they’ll approach it like any other minion but then freak out, “ew it’s a Sarlac, I don’t wanna touch it.”

It’s like they know it’s pointless to attack it (expect sometimes it isn’t) but they treat it like any other minion until it’s time to attack. The enemy needs to learn to plow through them when there are other targets or just to avoid them for other minions.

Beat it first try with alabaster titan. He’s pretty cool, neat concept

Good old vet golems did the trick. Dreamshapers are a bit awkward, but they were sacrificed for the greater good (except for the one that accidentally didn’t have his bond triggered RIP Jerry).

get juggernaut to stick for a turn. problem solved :+1:
