Autarch's Gifts = OP

@Smash_the_Hamster

The ONLY contention I have with this video is the issue of Divine Spark. Sparkie is one of those strange cards that increases your cardflow but isn’t busted on it’s own. Frequently, the deckbuilding issue I see with it, is that people build their Vet decks with only buffs and slow plays- which consequently makes the card underperform because the plan is to only play a single card every turn until you’re buffing.

With spells, and cheap/high utility minions, however- Spark creates an explosive hand acceleration as the game goes late- but it doesn’t stop you from making other plays in the same turn- like say, Heaven’s Eclipse.

So I did! Good catch! :slight_smile:

I agree with you on both counts.

however:

regards(1), The games and numbers I showcased where intended to show you that:

(a) the card is more consistent than you think – Anahh is always a 50/50, if I want to kill a 5 health dude I have a 4/6 (2/3) chance, etc. Basically, knowledge of the numbers and a look at a glance at the position itself should be sufficient for figuring the best/worst/average cases of playing the card.

In short, I believe that knowldge of how the card works and knowledge of the position means that you can make this card rather consistent, despite the inherrant RNG.

.

Regards(2):

Yes, it is undeniable that doubling down on artifacts makes you twice as vulnerable to any damage, this is why match-up knowledge and positional considerations are critical.

However, the reverse is also true; some combinations of artifacts are WAY more powerful than the sum of the parts; Wraithlings might make very short work of Hexblade+Staff, but Anakh+Spineclever is likely to be a damn nightmare for a swarm deck! – in that case its not as simple as smacking the wraithlings in to “waste” the artifacts.

Its fair to say my video did gloss over some of the weakness of the card, but honestly, while the weakness are significant they are not significant enough for me to choose to put some other card in my deck.

hope this post helps :stuck_out_tongue:

since the viability of spark is a side point, I wont go into detail. BUT, If I want draw in my Vet decks I’d usually opt for Li’Kian over Spark.

imo, spark needed a little something extra to be worth considering. A 2/2 Random Dervish would probably have been enough.

I will politely, but VERY strongly, disagree that it is OP.

the first time i played this deck, i got my first vetruvian ribbon

second game i lost since there is practically no card draw in this deck

Saji has been my go to general for boss farming and attacks gift was a great gift to me a saji manner. At first I didn’t think I would like it but it has become a staple in my saji deck. It’s a great step up from Osirix which could give you 2of the same artifacts. Regardless of what you get that’s a huge bump in damage and if u have spinecleaver a cause to pause for ur opponent. If vet had gotten Concealing shroud my God I think they would be super top tier for sure.

damn fine stat right there.

dont play too many cards per turn. be conservative and aim to curve out.

I do not believe that this post is a serious assertion that Gifts is op. If you read the post, it seems to be more of a joke.

Skywing where???

?? Im not joking?

S#6 with current list.

No Skywing cuz I dont publish meme lists.

It’s strong but I didn’t believe you think it’s actually overpowered

Exaggeration. Forgive me.

Oh and this is the most uptodate list (currently Srank#5)

But did you CLIMB using that list? Or are you using it only now that you’re in S-Rank?

Even if you don’t climb with it, playing many games with it in high S Rank is enough to prove a deck’s viability.

I love the one of Maw lol

Still not sold on gifts but S#5 is excellent. Grats on your results! :slightly_smiling_face:

Both.

In S, this is basically the only deck I have played. During Diamond/Gold I played a few other decks (about 30 or so games), but the majority of games where different iterations of the current list.

As you can see from my seasons stats;

  • 53 games in S-rank (using only this list) 73%
  • 64% in diamond (78 games)

The increase in wr from gold/diamond/S is probably to do with me (a) getting better at playing the list and (b) refining said list.
