Any ways to not get stale/bored?

Hey all,

Long time Duelyst player, just coming back to the scene. I haven’t been playing in a while, but I’m starting to itch for some games. Are there any ways to not get bored or stale while playing Duelyst?

And slightly unrelated but any word on a mobile/iOS app? I feel like this is really something I really really wanted, and was quite discouraged that it doesn’t seem like it’s gonna be thing… =/

play more than one game at once is my solution to avoid burnout, as for mobile it is still coming apparently, but nobody knows when.

I switch decks every few days, and stop playing for a few weeks, I do this all the time.

Dunno, play some maymays?

The mobile is work in progress, it’s just taking a lot of time for them to make it fully functional (ie it’s a really big job)

Now I want to try playing at least 3 Dooly games at the same time using smurfs

Step 1: Craft Sarlac the Eternal.
Step 2: Put them in a deck with Consuming Rebirth and Blood Echoes.
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Profit

I play off-meta decks to keep the game fun. Played artifact Vet for my quest today, went 1 win and 3 losses but almost beat a Lost Vet deck (was 1 hp off).

Alternative ending:
Step 3. Opponent plays EMP
Step 4: …
Step 5: Go cry in a corner

Fixed that for you.

This is what I tend to do if I know I’m gonna lose.

Yeah, basically what everyone else said. Change decks, play some music, have friends online to talk with while you’re playing, read, divine the future, decimate your opponents, watch cat videos… All kinds of ways! I do some of these myself.

Music is a big one personally, considering the games’ music is more suited for thinking.

I have other ways to kill the boredom, but (hah!) I don’t think I can list most of them here.

I like picking a fun card & then building a deck around that. It is challenging & the opponent has no idea what the hell you’re doing. I even get a few wins off of it. Lol

In German there’s a saying that goes “Genuss durch Verzicht”. A translation could be “Pleasure through moderation”. Only play when you’re psyched to play. Don’t play simply because you got nothing else to do.

I never get why people “quit” Duelyst. They are times when I play more Duelyst and they are times when I play less Duelyst. Good Metagame i will play every day extended hours at times.Bad metas maybe 1 hour a day,Every other day or so. It is okay to get tired of Duelyst the shelf life of most video games is maybe 3 months.Simple put it is okay to play sporadically just to have gold and spirit for when the game is more fun.

Just find the perfect balance between disenchanting and not-disenchanting. First friend i made in duelyst stopped playing because he dusted everything except his sajj deck.

No word on app and not likely to happen soon.

Personaly i simply switch decks every 2-3 days and if i still not having fun in the ladder i play some gauntlet/boss battle. With the coming of new game mode the variety will increase even more.

Try listening to some metal/epic/intence music while playing.

I personally make a new deck almost every day I play. And spend a day tuning it.

Next day most of them are deleted though.

And also I take a break from Duelyst every 3 months or so, just to play some old console RPGs. I prefer Shining Force and Langrisser series. FFTA2 also works fine.

A good way to keep the game fresh is getting the most out of the cool new expansion! Is it coming? :joy:
