My idea for the Reproduction and self damage theme:
4 mana
3/6
When this minion is moved for whatever reason deal one damage to it, gain +2 attack

We have never had an evolution mechanic before. What about:

Abominator
4 mana
3/3
Opening gambit: gain a random mutation. At the beginning of your turn, add an Abominator to your hand with this one’s mutations

Mutations are:
-1 cost
+1/+1
dying wish: restore 1 health to your general
dying wish: summon a 1/1

A mix of selection from you and your opponent

@largebanana 's card, cleaned up for them:

Abominator - 4 mana 2/3
Dying Wish: re-summon the last 3 minions killed by this minion on random squares as Abominations.
Takes no damage from minions.

Abominated: reduce this minion’s health to 1. Whenever its health is reduced, increase its attack by that much.

Whenever Abominator is dealt damage, summon a copy of it nearby.

On SMOrciest level, it is a 2/5, that becomes 2 2/3s, that then becomes 4 2/1s.

When Abominator kills a creature, gain attack equal to that creature’s attack.

Literal consumption, takes up an entire turn and effectively exchanges health for attack. Could be weaker and instead focus on when creatures nearby dying to give it attack for more power potential (but would likely be more crazy)

but the resummoned minion isn’t abominated in your simplification, how does that relate with the name Abominator :frowning:

Oh, whoops; missed that. Was also trying to get your card to fit into a 4 lines state (this one BARELY hits 4 lines); aand edited. Does not meet 4 lines standard, but fits in the tie to abominating.

Abominator - 6 mana - Neutral - Minion - 5/3
Dying Wish: Summon 2 infesting parasites around it

Infesting Parasite - 4 mana - Neutral - Minion- 1/1
Whenever this minion attacks destroy this minion and the attacked enemy minion. Summon Abominator in its place.

I really like this. This could generate infinite value but there is are clear counter play options. You can just use general attacks or spells to ping them off! This could make your opponent’s minions back away, buying you time, or let you lock your opponent out of making certain plays.

Got tangled into School-projects and didt have much time for the forum or other activities…currently writing this in school…
