Zirixâ BBS. It should be targetable, like Revaâs. A 2/2 isnât even as strong as a 1/1 ranged (see Helm of Mechazor vs. Heartseeker â one has an extra ability, the other is a faction minion. Two factors in favor of Heartseeker.), and the âargumentâ that a targetable BBS is âtoo confusingâ for new players is shattered by the existence of Kaleos and Argeon. If itâs going to remain random, it should be 3/2.

Astral Crusader should cost one less up front. Having it go through the whole Draw --> Replace --> Draw process just to be equal to a Stormmetal Golem is ridiculous, because thatâs already less likely to happen in a typical game than, for example, Hamon Bladeseeker dropping and then dying before the 2 damage is dealt, making itâs drawback nonexistent. Requiring it to be Replaced a second time and then drawn a third time before it becomes more efficient than a Golem is completely absurd. Letâs make Duelyst a game with as few ânoob-trapâ cards as possible, shall we?

Winterblade. Still. Forever. If Winterblade canât kill it, how likely are you to want to get facepunched by it so that you can stun it? Far more importantly, how often does that stun power make it worth costing one more and giving one less attack than the factionâs Common artifact? Yes, it combos with Coldbiter â but it would be 100% better for the game if it explicitly didnât combo with Coldbiter and either cost less or also stunned GeneralsâŚor something.
In a game as well-balanced as Duelyst is, these three things are just so painfully obvious outliers (and all three in the same below-the-curve direction) that itâs Really Obvious ⢠that they just donât fit in the with the game they exist in.
. It must stun generals to exist.
But these were the items that just seem genuinely ânot Duelysty.â Skyrock, sure, whatever â but one thing that Iâve always loved about Duelyst is the lack of âtrap cardsââŚexcept both Winterblade and Astral Crusader are very much exactly that.
