2 vs 2 co op mode do you think it would work? If so your ideas on how

The strategy of duelyst I think far surpasses any ccg out there. But what if you could form a team with a friend and battle another team of 2? I think it would take the strategy to a even high level? Two things I think would have to happen board wise. The board would have to be a bit larger 7x11 and your “team” would start on opposite corners. The mana springs would be tricky not sure how that would work. Just curious if others have thought of this and what your ideas are. Maybe one day this mode will show up in a patch

Seems legit. But in all seriousness, I would love a combat mode like that, and it would add more diversity and fun into decks, as decks would also become more teamwork orientated for that mode. They could even have it to were it’s one set of faction generals against another .

Exactly that and the deck building process would be amazing. does one player stack removal or do they both go face? Do they rush one opponent together or do you break off and try and solo by yourself. The flying and ranged guys would be a big problem since the board is larger but that’s where removal would be key.

I think this will work rather well. The mana tile placement might be left as is. That would discourage rushing down one opponent, since his partner will be able to capitalize on the free mana. Maybe it would also be a good idea to raise the tile count to four since 3 mana is not that impactful with 2 players on each side.

I would also love to see some cool gamemodes that represent certain situations: for example, a siege scenario where one player has a wall protecting him and another starts with more health and mana trying to overcome the defences in a set number of turns.

The idea is cool.

A solo campaign would be awesome too.
Or a coop campaign.

But not something like HS where you’ll fight an opponent with a precise deck but something like challenges where you start in a certain situation but you play an unlimited amount of turns until you win (Or with custom win conditions).

So many possibilities

The game modes sound cool if be down to play that for sure

I custom win condition would be interesting teching in certain cards would be a must

Also to how do you think the turns would work both players on each team drop on the same turn or would it rotate team A player 1 team b player 1 …

I would love playing Vanar Vanar VS Vanar Vanar. That would be crazy tricky.

that would be cool. i can just imagine cass staying back generating creep while lilithe commands the swarm to disrupt the opponents.

or having zirix stay back and build structures while sajj eliminates enemy minions

I have to wonder what happens when it becomes a 1v2 scenario, does the solo side lose the turn and half the deck? or does the dead player continue to play through the ally?

do they share units? or do they only control their own minions?

You see what I’m sayin it would be epic

I think the minions would have to be controlled by said caster once one player dies you could assume control of the minions on the board still left from your teammate

People on the same team have to pick the same faction though. Otherwise you get stupid combos like a kollssus with flying (magmar minion + flying spell from vetruvian)

The crazy combos are going to be there even when both are in the same faction. I think if this mode ever came out flying and ranged would have to have a distance restriction since the board is so large like 5 tiles horizontal and vertical and 4 diagonal

it would make sense lore-wise since the different factions enemies anyways

shadow creep would be severely nerfed due to the extra tiles and likewise chrysalis burst would be buffed

i like that it would be more about developing the board since the generals start farther apart and would not be able to face check minions on turn 2 (strengthening swarm and structures) but that would make the games longer and i dont see the devs agreeing to that.

I guess that’s true with reference to the lore and same faction generals on a team. The games would definitely be longer which would kinda stink but since would be playing with a friend on a team I’d imagine that would be ok

i thinks its possible. Warhammer for example is a tactics game, and it can be played with 2 people on a team. A larger board would be required however.

According to the devs, a co-op mode is in the works. They said it would be something like a campaign mode where you could work with your friends towards a common goal. So it doesn’t necessarily have to be a 2vs2, things could get messy…
